Description

Along the A1 is almost everything fenced.
We found a remote and very nice bushcamp about 12 km away from the A1.
To get to this place one must left on the monument for Tropic of Capricon into the earth road in direction of Buffels Drift / RSA.
After the 12 km a power line is crossing the road. Along the line leads also a kind of service path in both directions which might be also used sometimes from some local farmers (we have not seen anybody, only traces).
We used the left one and followed the path. After some hundreds meters we used a small track to get deeper into the bush. Only signs of cattle footprints. Anywhere in the (far) distance might be local farmers. We were completely alone and had a perfect bush night.
When following the path along the power line further one comes to a bigger dry river bed. There might be even more/bigger places (we not tried out).

Latest Check-Ins

Good quiet campsite. Didn't see anyone until the morning when someone rode past on a Donkey. There are lots of places to drive of the side track that leads from the powerline track.
