South Africa
Camping and a few chalets on a private reserve, beautiful views, lots of wild life, peaceful and quiet. Wifi at the main house does not reach most chalets or campground. Vodacom cell signal intermittent. Entry road is rough gravel, passable but rough by two wheel drive or low clearance. Covered cooking areas in campground and has a firepit and loads of wood. We paid R500 for a chalet per night.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Camping R150pppn, mostly level, 220v plug point, ablutions with hot water from donkey (wood provided). Drinking water from a rain water tank. Fairly protected from the wind.
WiFi was only available when there wasn't staying in the nearby accommodation (Smithy). Virtually no Vodacom or MTN reception.
Wood available for purchase. No Braai grids.
Loads of wet cow patties everywhere made site selection "interesting".
Report Check-InWe stayed here for two nights and found very welcoming hosts and a beautiful campsite. It can get busy on the weekends but we had it all to ourselves from Monday to Wednesday. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great but there is plenty of shelter where we could braai even in the rain.
Well marked hiking trails and clean ablutions, hot water with a donkey.
No MRN signal on the campsite.
a gate closes the entrance to the path you have to be able to call!
a track (2.5 km) goes down to the campsite. the climb can be tedious by bike...
the campsite is a huge meadow, it is very quiet and very beautiful.
there are many departures for hikes
Beautiful place.
Quiet and peaceful.
Friendly owners and clean ablutions.
Highly recommended.
240 rand for 2 people and our rig.
Nice place. Camping options are spread out with limited power points. Warm shower, cant drink the water. Wifi is fast, but only at the main house (4min drive / 12min walk from camping). R240 for 2ppl, cards excepted. Nice spot :)
Report Check-InAs said before a great little spot. There are a number of hiking trails on the property including an easy one up the kloof to a beautiful swimming hole. There is also a 4x4 trail up the mountain if you into that.
Camping is now R100 per person. One electricity plug point at old farmhouse and small kitchen area.
Lovely place, basic but clean ablutions, nice view and very lovely owner
Very good fast WiFi
We loved to stay here for a night. The owners are very friendly, and they have information/brochures about the Baviaanskloof. The place where you camp is where there grand, grandparents lived. The new house is up the hill where you enter. Ask for the hiking trail to the waterfall, it's a well signed route for +- 3 km in total. But watch out for snakes, we saw a boomslang.
80 Rand pppn.
Camping 75 Rand per person. Different nice walking trails. Friendly owners.
