I needed service and the campground had zero so both the security guards pointed out and to the right of the exit of the dam. Right after the Vista point is a better pull out. Very large. I didn’t hear the cars really go by at night and nobody bothered me.

Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
for an over night, this did the trick. it’s just a large gravel pull off, about a mile from the shasta dam. there was one small section that provided some shade in the afternoon. and another spot that has a pretty view overlooking the valley/dam/lake. we were the only van parked there and the road really quieted down after dark. the next pull off up ahead was more popular for people stopping to view the sunset. (heads up: the shasta dam visitor center is closed on wednesday & thursday) no AT&T.
Report Check-InNice spot. Sheriff woke me up at 230a asking where I was driving and if I was only staying one night. Didn’t give me a hard time though.
Report Check-Inlots of pull outs on this road. Beautiful views. we stayed for a night and didn't have any problems. there were a couple of other cars there for the night too and no one bothered us
Report Check-InWe spent the night on the gravel road under the power line. Nice view and pretty quiet.
Unfortunately somebody dumped there heap of garbage.
We picked up 70l bag of garbage just to clean the area where we parked and there is much more for everyone one. :(
Great spot for the night. There are multiple big pullouts along the road. Very little road noise and slept great. Had 2-3 bars of Verizon service.
Report Check-InParked right next to first power line tower with 13 foot trailer and truck. There is a larger spot all the way down the hill but it is a pretty steep hill probably only accessible by 4x4 without a trailer.
Report Check-InAs stated before. lots of places to pull off to the side. Plenty of room for RVs at many. I found a better spot where you can actually get away from the road. Look for a dirt entry way where the power lines are. Marked on road with two wooden posts on each side. No gate, no signage at all. So much room and way more private. Leads to access road that looks like it goes a long way for the power line tower access.
Report Check-InMultiple pull outs on this road. Got in late and stayed until 10am, cars go up the road in the morning but no one looked twice. Only stayed one night but it's a solid spot off i5
Report Check-InGreat spot! Not much traffic on this road overnight. Great view of the valley in the morning. 2 bars of Verizon service for me, so video streaming was off and on. Dam visitor center less than a mile away. It was closed on Sunday, but I used their port-a-potty and trash/recycling. Crossed the dam to use the wonderful rail trail on my bike.
