Description

Abandoned camp in the middle of nowhere with a nice caretaker and a pit toilet. one site with a good view of the river for a car like ours or smaller.
5$ after negotiation, 1$ for firewood.
No network with econet.
The road from Kariba along the lake and up was in good condition, the road to Binga was variable, but never a problem.

Latest Check-Ins

As described, this is an abandoned community campsite, but the caretaker is still around and it’s possible to camp. Paid 5$ pPpN, he brought water for the last surviving toilet. Registered in his book, the last customer was here two weeks ago. Nice spot, we felt safe, heard some voices from the nearby river and had a quiet night.

After a long treaturous, challenging, road from Binga, this campsite is a Godsend.
Mallik is a very friendly gentleman, who offers wood and water (for the basic toilet), lovely sunset.
Very basic, but safe and quite.

Nice spot for one night. Abandoned camp, no facilities but very clean. Nice view. Safe. Mellick takes care. 5 USD pp and for fire wood, you give what you want. Good stop after a long but very nice drive through the Charara area and mountains from Kariba to Matusadona.

Report Check-In

We were recommended by locals not to stay here as it is no longer safe...

Camp from a community project but abandoned. No facilities, no toilet no shower. The place is ideal as a stop over Binga to Karoi. Ask for $10 or what you want to give. We don’t want negotiate but with $5 the caretaker will be also satisfied. 2 pax 1 car

A nice place with a friendly caretaker. Simple but with a nice bush feeling. Basic ablutions but clean. Perfect stop for one night

Nice people and we got water for a shower with our own water bladder. Payed 5usd for 2 people.

We did the lake route from Kariba on 2 loaded 660 motorbikes. Wasnt a big issue only a few technical parts. The "main" road is so far in really good condition.

Very basic camp site for $10pppn. To our opinion too expensive for what you get. Better ask the chief of one of the villages if you can stay there.
