Something not right?

Description

Little spot just below the FSR to be hidden enough from the very sparse traffic. The running creek is nice, lots of wood, protected from the wind. Spotty cell reception if you walk around.

Latest Check-Ins

With how the road is graded right now, the turn off to the trail that goes to the site has a drop off that requires a high clearance vehicle to access site. Continued to site up the road.

Scottie's Creek is a decent stay for 1 night. It might have looked more picturesque before the fires. It is dry and full of burned up trees at the time we went. Do not attempt to drive this route at dusk or in evening. We ran out of daylight and did not realize this spot is on a 600ft incline along a zig zag mountain with no shoulder and deep drops. Small campers and 4x4s can access the steep decline no problem. We are in a 24ft sprinter van towing a 21ft Casita for my mom. So, altogether we were pulling 45ft. We decided to pass the turn dropping down to creek so passed this spot a few more minutes to a big wide open dirt lot (you can check on Google if you have reception). There are no turnouts of bigger rigs further up the mountain so this is a good spot for a bigger rig. Probably not good for Class As. Once parked we had panoramic views and hiked around a bit in the morning when daylight came. We slept well as it was secluded and quiet from highway. Will add some pics too.

This spot was solid. There was already someone down by the river in a smaller SUV so I took the spot just to the right of the road on the way down to the water. They shot a few rounds just before sundown which was new for our camping experience but no concerns from us. Plenty of room for us but we had to navigate some tall grass and cactus around the site.
Cell service is there but questionable at best.

this place is washed out so probably don't bother coming. the track down is ok but not for low clearance vehicles. stinks bc it's right by the creek.

this was a really good spot! just a tiny bit bumpy to get down that hidden trail on the right, but it is well worth it. enough place to turn around down there and to host a few cars maybe 4 comfortably. It was peaceful with the sound of the river.

Report Check-In

As of April, 2023, this campsite has been burned. It was fine for us but in warmer weather, there will be no shade. Also, watch for work trucks on the road.

great spot, much better than I was expecting.

down an easy gravel road and then down a turn off till the end. there is a few other spots before the end.

creek is the only noise and mountains on all sides. the gravel road continues up above the site so not 100% private as the occasional car can see you (5 in 24 hrs on a weekend)

Spent the night here in our truck house. Super quite/no traffic. Access was straightforward. Reasonably clean. 2.8 km off main hwy on well maintained gravel FSR.

lovely spot, much greener and cooler than the surrounding dessert. Really appreciated the creek! Thanks for the tip
