This location is just north of BIG Canoe, a Mountain development of single-family homes. The area you can camp is part of state land WMA, and does require a yearly license. I've stayed here twice and nobody came to check on a yearly pass. this spot is a pullout just off the main gravel road. stay on gravel road another 1/4 or so mile for a number of other camping spots. those spots are by the creek and access to hiking trails. The drive down to the creek camping area has a couple of steep and rutted sections. passenger cars and my Nissan Van made it just fine, but not sure I'd bring a larger rig down it. Weak to non-existent Verizon cell service.

Turnout area along road to campground with camp/tent sign. Nice quiet spot away from all the weekend campground noise. Room for a few tents and cars in the shade. Verizon cell coverage is 3-4 bars. Some road traffic on Campground Rd and highway below. Birds singing all around. Previous residents had a fire pit of sorts.
Report Check-InRoad is rough gravel coming in. There is currently a tree over the road limiting anything over 10 feet. Busy weekend. Lots of misuse and abuse going on with this campground with users camping where they feel like damaging the natural landscape. Creek is flowing a lot of water. Looks and sounds amazing.
Report Check-InArrived 6:30 p.m. and did not see another soul. Quiet. Verizon cell coverage adequate. Gravel Road in very good shape. We did not have the pass required as indicated by the sign at the road turn off, as also mentioned by original post.
Report Check-Instayed one night before going to Amicalola Fall with no issues. road is good. big enough for class C
