Really beautiful place, quite windy and cool, very welcome after the heat in Capitol Reef Park
Report Check-InNice spot. A little road noise, but not bad. Clean vault toilets and a picnic table at the day use area.
Report Check-InFrontage road right off of reservoir.
A little soft gravel and mud in April.
Ice on a windy lake and a little road noise.
Otherwise perfect
BLM spot to dry camp. 7k feet in altitude, view of small reservoir and dam. Water non existent but the area was green where the water had been. Quiet, clean as in no trash and a porta potty, also clean. Other spots closer to the dam, we chose to be closer to the porta potty. Would stay here again.
Report Check-Indirt pull off behind pit toilet was easy to get to 2wd, it had big tractor tracks like it was under construction, a sign was face down saying road closed. I was the only car (tent camper) there. lights, noise from highway, and bird squaws were a little loud but with earplugs not too bad.
Report Check-InI did not enjoy this spot. It’s maybe 20 yards from the highway, so the highway noise is a lot. It’s not interstate-level noise, but I’ve stayed at Walmart’s that were quieter than this spot.
I could only find 2-3 parking areas, one of which was already taken by an RV. Most are exposed, both to wind and highway noise. Even in my semi-sheltered spot, the wind was gusting.
The spots are semi-level but not exact. Without leveling blocks, my rig was leaning.
NO AT&T cell service whatsoever.
Pit toilets were infested by black flies and unusable until the early morning hours when it was cold enough for them to stop swarming.
The reservoir had water but wasn’t terribly scenic. Biting insects meant you couldn’t enjoy the views in the evening.
I stayed here in a pinch but won’t be back.
Report Check-InLake is all dried up at the end of summer. I moved on to Fishlake, 2k feet higher, and 15-20' away.
Report Check-InBeautiful site, main area was full of RVs but we followed a smaller road that ended up being secluded. Limited Verizon service
Report Check-InPerfect place to stay if you want to head north after visiting Capitol Reef. Much cooler here. Some highway noise but not too bad.
