Walmart | Informal Campsite

I’m not 100% sure why it’s marked closed on iOverlander, bc it’s also listed as parking friendly on the App RV Parky. So that’s why I chose it.
I arrived after watching the best sunset at Sterns Park. I parked in the southwest corner of the lot, near a few overnight semis. No problems. Quiet night - listened to frogs before I kicked up the sound machine. The store is not 24 hrs.
Rather clean and well organized inside - which is refreshing. I felt like it’s a safe stay for a night.

Open as of 5/18/2024. I called and received permission then stayed one night. Park at the small outermost lot by the semis. It was noisy until WM closed at 11pm, quiet all night. I left about 8:30am

Ok to stay here. I even called to ask and make sure. They just said park along the back. I had no problems.

We asked if we could stay overnight at the Luddington Walmart and the employee in Customer service said "No, if someone attempts to stay we have to call to have them removed" She said she wished she could let us stay but they can't anymore. So we didn't stay.I'm not sure when this changed, but that was on June 27, 202, that we requested to stay. She didn't say why, but I suspect it is a city policy.

Good for one night. There we’re several cars/semi trucks parked the night I stayed but they didn’t keep me up, road is close by but it quiets down after 10pm.
