Description

The ranch is an animal rescue that offers both a converted bus and camping sites. The bus has a double bed, a couch that can sleep one, solar power, a propane stove, WiFi, and a hot shower. The campsites have a place to take bucket showers, a shaded area, and a fire pit. We offer a true off-grid experience where you can escape, disconnect, and hang out with all of our friendly animals. Our place is home to dogs, cats, horses, pigs, goats, and sheep. It is just a short 10-minute walk away from the beach. We are also located near volcanoes, for those looking for beautiful hikes. And there is ATV off-roading, kayaking, biking, and fishing areas nearby. Please give us a call or text beforehand, because it is a bit tricky to get to. 52-616-104-7858

We are halfway there, but the road is not fun in our 20' class C. Maybe if you have great suspension and don't mind your teeth rattling out you'll enjoy the ride there. Pretty washed out. We turned around.

What a wonderful and fun place!
Felipe is great with communication and directions to his place. The school bus looks rad! Got to help with some
If the animals as we trimmed some hooves. Shared a beer in the evening His dog Maverick gave us a tour of the property and the beach nearby. We opted to park just above the beach to catch a beautiful Pacific sunset.

5 of 5 stars!! If you would like to you ca get really disconnected but you don’t have to because the WiFi connection is very good. The host is a lovely person and the bathroom is simple but very clean with hot water. All dogs are very friendly and there are pigs, cats and horses. We stayed 2 nights instead of 1 we planned. I would defently come back.

Felipe is a super cool and easygoing guy! We enjoyed hanging out at his ranch for the night and highly recommend staying here! Cute animals, and close to the ocean. Thanks for the hospitality Felipe!

Highly recommm5end thiis spot! Felipe is a really nice guy, property is beautiful, and was a great way to break up my drive south. Lots of animals and my favorite might be his dog Maverick who followed me on my walk to the beach each night. Property is a little tricky to find so definitely recommend texting/using WhatsApp to message him before you arrive!

woops forgot....think there is wifi but didn't use it as mobile coverage is strong! you definitely want Philipe to meet you as getting here would be a bit tricky and forget about doing it on your own in the dark

we're here right now! awesome place off the beaten track for sure. 10min walk to the most deserted beach I think iv ever stood on and watched the sun set. Philipe is an awesome host and super friendly. little wind break for your tent and a pit toilet. horses, dogs and goats 🐐 too. if your nice Maverick will take you to the beach! Safe and out of the wind zone! the drive is fine with 2wd big rigs would be a challenge which is good cause they are none here😂

As described, I wrote Felipe a WhatsApp and already 20min later I got an answer. We could check in unproblematically 2h later with the camper. Felipe and Madeleine picked us up at the small market in the village in front. The place is cozy and the two have shown us everything. In the evening at the campfire we also met the resident of the bus. It was a cozy and fun evening. Both speak English. The next day we went canoeing and had dinner together in a cute restaurant by the sea.
They have many animals, which they take care of with love. We gave him a donation for the animals. The beach is also good for swimming and SUP. Our two teenagers were thrilled.

Ditto!!!! Lovely space. But most importantly felipe & madeline are so lovely. They’re growing their rescue and their services. Come and help. And DONATE. Especially if they take time away from their chores to host you!!!!

Just a really really lovely place to stay a couple of days! You can do both either relax and enjoy this little paradise with all the animals or explore the area. We really enjoyed staying here and would highly recommend this place. The owners are great people and help you with whatever it is.

I have visited Mexico numerous times over many years. Camping at Felipe's (& Madeleine's ) place ranks as one of the best experiences I've had in Mexico, in large part because of Felipe!

The ranch is a little tricky to find, so Felipe routinely meets visitors at an easy to find location and leads you to his place. A strong wind was blowing when I first arrived, so Felipe quickly fortified an already nice camp shelter with additional sheets of plywood to produce a wonderful wind block for my tent. He then arrived with a table and large water dispenser so I was completed set up to cook and camp. It was a perfect camp site!

Felipe then provided many many great ideas for hikes to the nearby beautiful beach (10 min walk to beach from ranch), and in the hills around the Ranch. He even arranged for me to go on a hike with a local women's hiking group, which was really special. Felipe was a wealth of knowledge regarding where to find a number of items I needed (e.g., super glue!), and in providing ideas for places to visit in Baja. He and Madeleine even took me on a wonderful hike to a nearby estuary, joined me on the women's hike, and shared a couple meals together with me in town. He is truly a special person, has a great sense of humor, and does everything (& more!) to make one's visit to the Ranch the most wonderful experience ever. I intend to travel again to Baja, and would not miss an opportunity to spend more time at the Ranch with Felipe and Madeleine. It was magical. Thank you so much for being the perfect hosts!

Fantastic experience. The hosts Felipe and Madeleine took excellent care of me (I camped, by donation), bringing me water, scrounging up firewood, making sure I was comfortable at their place. They took me and some other visitors out for a day trip to hike a local volcano and eat at a mom and pop oyster shack which I never would have encountered on my own. They took us into town and helped with basic needs (sim cards, atms, they’re even taking me to the pharmacy) and Felipe acted as translator through it all. I HIGHLY reccomend you stay here and donate for the animals they are caring for. Message them on WhatsApp and they will come meet you at the local store as you will not find their place on your own.
As a first time traveller to Mexico with limited Spanish, this was the best experience I could have hoped for.

Just the nicest place you can imagine. Off the grid location close to the beach. Super beautiful what they made out of this spot. They converted an old bus into a tiny home. Really high quality and brand new.
Felipe can also give you great advice on the area, where to hike and where to get the best Oysters.
Rates are super cheap but if you can consider donating something as well. All helps to support the animals.
