Description

Beautiful campsite at the Angwa Dam. Really peaceful and quiet. We loved going for walks here. Ablutions have hot water and are really well maintained. There is also a communal kitchen available if needed. This is well worth a stop-over or a couple of days respite if you need a break from the road.

The campsite is a close drive to Saucy Sue's where you can stock up on meat and treats. You'll get the best breakfast rolls, burgers and coffee here.

You need to arrange with the owner before arriving. Call or whatsapp Bruce at +263772104522

Another vote in favor of this lovely campsite. Just be careful the donkeys don't come eat your food!

Simple campground with clean ablutions a showers (hot on request) and a fire at night. Blessing is perfect! Certainly good for a stop-over before or after Harare. Call in advance!

Indeed this is a wonderful place to stay - the whole setting is in a lush green garden (lots if birds). Everything is very clean and in perfect condition. Blessing the care taker was waiting for us when we arrived from the Lions Den Butchery (where we had a delicious burger for lunch and bought excellent biltong). Later, the owners Sue and Bruce came by to welcome us - such a lovely couple. It is great that such places still exist - and for a very fair price $10 ppn👍😀 We can only recommend to stay here.

What an oasis! After many days on the dusty roads, we absolutely loved this peaceful place. Blessing, the manager, was very welcoming. Great stop-over between Harare and Mana Pool/Kariba

Lovely small camping spot with good facilities, as already described. We also paid $10pppn. We paid and arranged the camping at the butcher shop in Lion’s Den as we didn’t have a local SIM card to call ahead. Cash only.

The location on IOverlander is the turn-off where Blessing will wait for you. The campsite is closer to the lake. You still can hear the traffic a little, but it was quiet in the night. Many birds are around in the forest and at the lake. A much better place for a stop along the route than at Chinhoyi Caves we found.

Lovely camping place with some grass for 10USD pp. They have Chalets as well.
Great ablutions with hot water, and clothes washing basins.
If you're an early riser, walk to the lake for a beautiful sunrise.
Beware...it gets freezing at night in winter🥶

amazing campsite, hot water, nice shower, clean ablutions and Blessing, the man in charge is super friendly and helpful. However, I must say it is not really an established, they want to keep it small. So it not you should contact Bruce but you HAVE to contact him or his daughter, Tracy. Otherwise you will be like us in front of a looked gate. Will definitely come again. Plus for kids, 5 donkeys roaming around;-)

First you stop at Saucy Sue's in Lions Den, lovely butchery, we bought t-bone steak, marinaded chicken kebabs and biltong. Paid for our camp 10USD pppn. Then back a few kms along the road and Blessing was waiting at the gate. Tranquil campsite, nice grassy space, we had a huge brain he laid for us and a fire pit if u wanted. Lovely showers and flush toilets and washrooms. Donkeys came into camp, very sweet. Perfect for us for a night's stopover.

60$ for 4 people just parking our truck in a private place?

I think it is so much for what’s the country!

Beautiful camp as you are less than a min walk to the reservoir, we did self camp but the chalets are newly built and really well crafted. Similarly the ablutions are clean, well laid out and they have hot water. Good facilities as well for cooking, and option to make a fire (which Blessing was very helpful in ensuring we were sorted everything we needed).

The owners (Bruce and Sue) were lovely and very accommodating, as mentioned in the other reviews below - would text Bruce in advance to let them know you are coming as he met us about 10km before (in town) to ensure we had clear directions (as it is a bit tucked away). Also for the morning can highly recommend Saucy Sue’s for breakfast & a coffee - delicious.
