We’ve parked on the side of the road in front of V6 coffee bar. Had a good nights sleep, train came by once but didnt bother us. Checked with some locals if it was OK and allowed to park here: no issues. There’s also a little gravel area next to the street which seems to have even better parking (there are two RVs parked there too at the moment). Easy access. No facilities.

Latest Check-Ins
We pulled up at 10pm and spent the night here with no problems. There was one train sometime in the night but it went by fast and wasn’t too loud. Theres a gravel lot just off the road but we didn’t see it so we parked on the side of the road and it was okay. But the gravel lot has some trees and a bit more privacy. Across the street, V6 is a great little coffee shop with gender neutral bathrooms, opened up at 7a.
Overall, good stage spot to go to big bend in the morning, no complaints!
Was fairly good. Felt safe.
Good option before going to Big Bend National Park
This large gravel lot is level and is big rig friendly.
Right across the street from a great coffee shop and several great restaurants. The French Grocer is one block away.
I asked at one of the restaurants and they said it fine to park for the night.
We backed up to the train tracks, there was one long train at 7:00 pm and no other trains after that.
Very little traffic. We slept well and it was quiet. Marathon is a great little town that we would recommend.
We had very good bbq at the Brick Vault Bbq and Brewery across the street from the lot.
