Latest Check-Ins

I got here my transit visa to cross from Kazakstan to Georgia. Took 2 days with express and cost 78000t. Not necessary to be resident in Kazakhstan (German Passport). You need to apply via the website and make an appointment online. The lady working at the visa window spoke English and German. Translation was not necessary for car papers. Process is the same as described before. Inside it is window #3. For pick up you don’t need an appointment, you can go Tuesday and Thursday 15-17:00. Payment only with credit card, European cards work.

Opening hours currently Tuesday and Thursday 15:00 to 17:00. You can call to ask for opening hours, they answered the phone, very friendly but no english.
They said they (currently?) do not issue any visa, also no transit visa, unless you have a residency in Kazakhstan and have permission to stay in Kazakhstan for longer than 90 days. This was for German citizens. So we did not get transit visa.
If you go there, they might already let you in the courtyard before the opening hours start. Ring the bell at the side entrance at the parking lot and say you come for visa.
Once in the courtyard, wait next to the entrance door and they will call out when the next person can enter.

Transit Visa (2 belgians): Process is still the same as described below. We got 10 days by extending our route all the way to Mourmansk. We added a map of the route and an initairy of the 10 days. No questions about it. We asked to keep our passports which was no problem.

Report Check-In

We have picked up our transit visa this afternoon.
We have done the request last Friday.
Open hours for visa requests are : Tuesday 9:30 - 11:30. Friday 15:00 -17:00. But it could change ( there was a paper today announcing that next Friday it will be in the morning in place of the afternoon !)
Process for the request :
- 15:00 the gate is opened by a guard. He will call the name of persons with an appointment ( not you if you come for a visa ).
- The people that are present for the visas (any kind : business, tourism, transit ) have to create a queue (on the left side of the stairs). Look at who arrives after you !
- A guy will speak in the parlophon each time someone can get in. If you don't speak Russian, ask some to tell you when you can enter.
- When you enter, present your passport to the guard. He will note your name and ref number.
- Enter the room and go to the locket 3.
- Present your passport and the following documents for transit visa : - copy of passport
- copy of medical insurance declaration
- printed form previously completed on the web, with a color ID picture
https://visa.kdmid.ru
- copy of the international driving licence of the driver,
- copy of the car passport (certificat d'immatriculation ).
- a letter explaining why you need a transit visa, your itinerary, the dates.

- The guy, who speaks English, will check the documents, ask you if you want the visa for next Tuesday (around 70 $) or next Friday (around 40$).
- You will then receive a receipt, to present to the locket Cassa. Then you have to pay in Tenge.
- Attention, they will keep your passport.

Process for the pickup :
- I came next Friday. I arrived at 14:00 and was the first in the queue. I came alone for our family of 4.
- I entered, showed the receipts to the guard, then went to the locket 3.
- I gave the 4 receipts, and get back the 4 passports with the transit visas as requested : 10 days, dates requested.
- At 15:05 it was done !

Note that we are Belgians, Belgian residents, travelling with a belgian registered campervan, with 2 kids.
We asked 10 days transit, and we get it.
