Dry camp for $25 per night, on the pavement. Hot shower available and is actually hot.

Report Check-In

Not a bad price @ $25 a night. Fairly odd setup, it's essentially just a big old carpark with a patch of grass beside about half the size of the carpark.

We were the only people at the campsite strangely. Turned up at about 6pm, host told us we couldn't park on the grass as it was too wet although it seemed pretty dry and more than acceptable to drive on IMO. So we were told to park on the farthest side of the car park away from the host. A shame really as it's literally just a knackered old carpark with nothing near it except a chain link fence. Whereas the grass has got the bathrooms + showers nearby, picnics tables, and it's just generally nicer.

Felt fairly safe despite being the only people there. As it's off season in a county fairground, I guess the buildings and halls are being used for activities and other things, so cars coming and going up until around 9pm but not a bother at all. Woke up at around 8am, made some food out the back of our van, used the hot showers and bathrooms, and we were off on our way at around 10am.

Overall fairly good value for $25. Being on the grass would make it a no-brainer as opposed to being put in the corner (nobody puts baby in a corner). Unlimited hot showers and the quietness make it for me.

$25/night. Great showers (big, endless hot water)! Camper van parking is just in the parking lot. Lots of places to walk your dog on the fairgrounds. The dump station is kind of hidden around the back side of the large building on the left of the fairgrounds (as you face the entrance from the RV parking area). As noted, you can't park uphill from the dump opening, and there's no screw-in for your hose end, so it's kind of cowboy style.

Report Check-In

Fair campground. Sites are grass (condition based on weather) with water & electric $35 or $25 for dry. Dump station is behind the round roof building. It leans the wrong way and will need a long stinky slinky. Site parked under street light. Camp host not on duty. 3 other campers here...one of which was in our sight but rather discuss the issue, we just took the next campsite since it was just an overnight stay.

Report Check-In

Arrived just before 5pm hoping to get a FF dry camping spot as these are not available to reserve. Since it is a Wed, we checked in at the office rather than with the camp host and were told we could park anywhere in the parking lot or adjacent level grass covered field. We walked into town to check on the historic sites and stopped at Tuyas for beer, ceviche and fish tacos which were all excellent. Upon arriving back at the fairgrounds, the host came out and informed us that we were expected to park in the field and not the parking lot. Not a big deal to move-the ground was level, the grass green and plenty of room for many rigs so no need to hurry to this great spot! We also saw several hook up sites available in that area as well.

Report Check-In

Nice quiet place to stay. 20 dollars dry camp.

Report Check-In

Not much to add. Can pay with cash or card. The shower building is not heated but the showers themselves are amazing.

Report Check-In

Very quiet place at the end of town, walkable distance to the center of amazing city. Dry camping 20$ including showers and dump. We paid an extra amount of 5 for filling the water tank. Bathrooms clean, showers hot. Staff isn’t friendly.
Please note: RV park is closed in august.

Report Check-In

It was a nice place to spend the night, I felt very safe. Bathrooms and showers were good, bring shower shoes. 20$ a night, and the feral cats came and said by to me before I left in the morning.

Report Check-In

The campground host, Kai, is really nice. we did the dry camp option. Great deal for in-town camping--and showers. Also, in Ferndale go to Tuyas Mexican restaurant. The deep fried avocados are awesome!! And the mango margaritas are pretty good too.

It is an ideal location to base camp as nearly everything the North Coast and interior of Humboldt County has to offer within a 2-4 hour drive.

Report Check-In

20$ a night.
reception was unaware that price had gone from 12$ to $20 for sleeping in a grass field over the last two years.

Report Check-In

cheapest campground around. Especially since it includes free unlimited hot showers. There are 2 parts of the campsite; one for RVs and trailers, and one for tents. The field for tents is basically a large grass field perfect for steaks. However there is no picnic table nor firepit. There fit a lot of people on the field and there were very few when we were here. Would definitely recommend!

Report Check-In

Quiet and pretty flat for the night. A lot of availability for a Thursday in late March.

Showers and restrooms in RV park are closed for remodel but we were able to use facilities beyond the fairgrounds gate. A nice hot shower after a couple days of wild camping was a treat.

Pretty sure we could hear the ocean! Rate was 20$ for a dry site. Moderate Verizon coverage.

Report Check-In

Must stay! The most affordable place around at $20 per night dry camping. Great camp host (Kai) and friendly neighbours. Surrounded by meadows and cows. We even had a Friendsgiving potluck where Kai served the best turkey. Shower room unheated, but unlimited hot water.

Report Check-In

Now $20/night to dry camp in the field. Access to toilets and hot showers. Was protected from the crazy wind on Lost Coast.

Report Check-In

PROS:
- cows across the street
- quiet despite being by a road
- dump facilities on site
- I saw other vehicles hooked up to power outlets

CONS:
- Tried to check in with camp host but could not yell over the country music playing in their rig.

Simply:
Nothing fancy. Just a quiet, safe place to spend the night.

Park manager (male counterpart) let us crash for $10/night to dry camp. stayed a few days. Stayed an extra night and the female counterpart charged us $15. Bathrooms were ok, safe spot to crash

Report Check-In

I was dry camping and pulled in near sunset for a quiet nights sleep. Super safe, local police cruised by twice that I saw and camp host is friendly. Bathrooms and showers are clean. Great location to bed down for the night. And at $15, best value around with super access to the Lost Coast and close enough to points north up the coast.

Report Check-In

the price now is 15, if you want only the shower is 5. the place is good and there are a lot of RV

Report Check-In

As described. $12 dry camping is in the parking lot, and then there's a grassy area with trees and picnic tables if you pay for hook-ups. There are fields on two sides and many scenic cows.

Bathroom was not the best. Even for only $12/night, maybe this facility could pay for some dollar store shower curtains to replace the moldy ones? Bring your shower shoes and don't touch the walls.

Report Check-In

Very nice camp host that checked us in. $12 to park in the parking lot for dry camping in our camper van. Restrooms are pretty dirty but can’t complain on the cost and only a short drive to the redwood forest. Cute farm town that’s very quite.

Report Check-In

Nice area. Showers are decent. At least the facilities are open. Good price for rent/van - $12.

Report Check-In

stayed for the night. good value for the 12 dollar tent fee. included washrooms, showers and Wi-Fi:)

Report Check-In

Great spot. Nothing fancy but safe and secure. It does feel off the beaten path, but preserver over Ferndale bridge and look for the Fairground signs. There is a ‘Host’ at the site so if you are after hours, look for the RV and the Host sign. They will give you the code for the washroom and shower area. I wish more Fairgrounds down the west coast provided this service!

Report Check-In

Likely the cheapest pay campground in California, seems like the camphost is charging $12 for all sites now including water/power sites, maybe during offseason?

The dump station is hard to find, need to drive into the fairground itself, hang a left immediately, once you hit the gate make a right and follow the fence line down towards the end of the first barn. On the left hand side you will see a manhole sewer cover with a small circular flap that opens to use the dump.

Bathrooms were nasty when we were here but the water was hot, so we were happy

Ferndale is cute little town w grocery and a few restaurants

Report Check-In

Still 12$ for dry stay in total (Van +2pax) and hot showers without time limit. The showers/toilets need a fresh up and a clean up, but it‘s ok for the price. The shower cabins are quite big so you don‘t need to touch the wall. The campground is nice and big with a few picnic tables. Make sure to visit the town of Ferndale - it‘s charming and worth to see it when you stay there (on main street is a coin laundry)!

Report Check-In

Great economical campground option. It’s still $12 for a dry campsite and hot showers are included (no time limit either!). The showers and bathroom are old and could use a good clean but for the price we can’t complain! Be sure to check out the town of Ferndale it’s super cute!

Report Check-In

great place for$12 dry camping in the middle of a very agricultural area, yes the showers could use some attention but plenty of hot water. Town of Ferndale is really nice, clean & with some interesting buildings & shops

Report Check-In

$12 dry camping on paved parking lot, $28 for powered sites with tables and fire rings. Hot shower and flush toilets.

Report Check-In

Tent camping on nice soft grass behind the grand stand. $12, incl showers. If you just want a shower, it's $5. Recommended, but probably unavailable during events.

Report Check-In

Small campground 28$ for full hookups and 12 for dry. Showers are included in the price or 5$ if you’re not staying the night. Hot unlimited showers but not very clean and very old. But for the price it’s perfect in this area.

Report Check-In

Small camping, 12$ per night. Unlimited hot water but bathrooms are really dirty. Okay for 1 night

Report Check-In

Wanted to stay but office closed, no host, no phone number. Couldn't use bathroom. So I left.
