Description

Border crossing from Mexico to Los Indios, TX USA, on a Wednesday at 4pm. It took exactly one hour to return our TIP and our FMM on the Mexican side. As you drive towards the border, the Aduana/immigration building is on the left side, before the toll booth for the bridge (69 pesos or $4). There is parking just before the building (on its left when you face it - the GPS coord are for the parking). Park there and walk to the main building. It’s the same line up for people coming in and out of the country so it was a bit long to wait for our turn, we were the only one getting out!
There is no much around this border crossing, no town for a few km prior, so it’s pretty easy to conduct your business undisturbed.
Returning the TIP, they took pictures of the front and back license plates, the VIN and the veh placard inside the door frame. They gave us a receipt confirming the return and that the deposit will be reimbursed to our credit card.
There is a banjercito in another building to the left but we didn’t have to use it so no info on their efficiency.
Getting into US on the north side of the bridge they asked if we had fruits, meat or money. No question asked about our dog. We didn’t see anyone being inspected. So overall, pretty easy! (As Canadians, we didn’t have to deal with importing the veh)
Note: USA has the daylight saving time but not Mexico. So there is an one hour difference between both country from March to October only.

Latest Check-Ins

Everything as described. Very kind officers on the US side. Crossing needs less than one hour total.

Just to add that if you registered your van as a camper (tip available for 10 years, so charge) you just have to go to immigration (same building) to get stamped out.
Very fast and effective!

Also, you can't bring in any plants even if bought in USA because they travelled to Mexico.
If you bring any alcohol, even within the limit authorized by USA, Texas make you pay a tax.
