Beautiful site by the beach, accommodate at least 4 or 5 campers. No signage forbidding overnight stay. Walking distance from town with great coffee shops if you need to do work.
Report Check-InConfirm the pullout about 50 meters north is the best place, by the water, not too much traffic
Report Check-InStayed on the pullout a bit further for one night, quiet and full of blackberries :) Washrooms available in the park (+/- 7min on foot) but they close for the night
Report Check-InThere are two pullouts North if the park with no parking restrictions. Minimal traffic at night. Quiet and beautiful view!
Report Check-InDon’t know why it has been marked as closed as there are no signs expressing no overnight parking and we stayed here no problem for two nights. The parking lot down the street has no overnight parking but there are lots of parking spaces right by the beach which are completely seperate with seperate signage. We fit our car and trailer in a parallel park easily.
Report Check-InWorked for us two different nights. Think we were alone, not at the park but a bit after on the gravel pullout. nice view on the water.
Report Check-InCame out to the bay to see a friend. She didn’t have parking at her place so I came down here. Is quiet a pretty place to wake up. Near the rd but very little traffic.
Report Check-Inno "no forbitten" sign, just a big pullout, good view, quite at night, 2 big rigs or 3-4 vans, just behindcthe Park, muddy after rain
Report Check-InAmazing spot by the water! Easy to walk into town from too.
Only problem is we had a local perving and taking pictures of my girlfriend when she was in her bikini just before we had a swim. I confronted him but he quickly darted off. He was in a white pick up with a really friendly border collie dog, beware!
Report Check-InThe place had “no camping” sign. We didn’t risk staying here, there was lot of people around, but you can stay here from dawn to dusk and enjoy nice view and little park
Report Check-InVery minor road traffic in the night and a few cars stop by, but no disturbance at all. Short walk to the village. Wake up in the morning to watch seals in the bay.
Report Check-InVery nice place. Free parking. We stayed 1 night with our van, no problems. Just next to the Cowichan river beach. We saw a seal!
Good spot.
Camped at the first pullout going into the bay there is a second pullout a few 100m away. Busy with summer traffic until about 10.30 great spot for an over night or just to spend the day
Report Check-InIt was a very nice place to stay! It's a quiet spot with access to the ocean and a beautiful starry sky at night. There was enough space for about five cars.
On the next day at noon two police men came and asked us, if we stayed there the night (they got tips from someone, that there are people wildcamping in that area). Be careful there, maybe they'll come back the next days.
Stayed in the second pull out which can easily fit 5 RVs. No amenities but the view is amazing and the ocean is just a step away.
There are also lots of delicious berries to pick from the bushes around!
We stopped at the second pull-off spot! A few cars stayed for the night!
This is close to the road. You have access to the water and a small firepit was accessible!
Amazing view of the sunset !
Perfect for one night!
Report Check-Inpull-off parking lot on the outskirts of village. could fit 4-5 vehicles. little pathway to beach. beautiful sunset over silhouetted mountains across the bay.
Report Check-Indecent place to stay for a night. close to the water. no signs at all.
2 other cars joint me. could cook and sleep here without anybody bothering.
There’s a large car park in Cowichan Bay and if approaching from Duncan, three pull-off spots just before. Working backwards from the car park (which has a portaloo) the first is in front of a nice park by the bay but close to the road and with no camping signs. The next is set a little deeper and closer to the water with bushes so more private and the third just a shallow, gravel pull-off.
We stayed in the second with no issue and only one other car joined us (you could fit 4-5 cars there). Road is moderately busy throughout the day but quiet at night.
Report Check-InGreat place. Quiet during the evening. No issues and a beautiful outlook over the bay. No facilities but a short walk into Cowichan Bay village.
Report Check-InThere are three pullout areas in close proximity to the location mentioned so there is space for more then a single car. No signs so seems ok for a night. Road is used, so there is traffic noise. Can walk to a little beach for sunset behind the pullouts. Also small park down the road.
Report Check-Inpullout facing the bay just outside pretty little village of Cowichan Bay
quiet at night, a few cars passing by in the morning
only 1 camper van can fit. good for an overnight stay in this area
