Report Check-InNot sure I would spend 10 days here, but is ok for a night or two. Frequent police presence so felt very safe. Not particularly quiet being a city with lots of cars. There is a pedestrian street 1 block away to walk to the main plaza. Cute town, way cleaner then anything else in northern Peru.

Report Check-InSpent two nights here camped next to other travellers. It’s a lively town especially during the 10 day festival but the nights do quiet down. Welcoming locals and felt very safe.
Report Check-InWe felt save however in the third night someone stole our fire extinguisher (we had one outside of the campervan just in case).
Report Check-Insecurity guards all night. we asked them and it was fine to stay. free street parking.
we felt safer here after the gas station refused to have us and in the other square on ioverlander we had two guys staring at our van for a good 25 minutes (then we decided to quit, at 9pm)
