Description

We wanted to go to Termales San Ruiz, taking this road, but it is undrivable, even with our 4x4 ford transit with high clearance. we backed out midway. do yourself a favour, and enter from the other side. that road is mostly paved. only the last 5km or up to termales san ruiz are unpaved, but still very good. from there on it starts to get worse.

Latest Check-Ins

No problems today going here to the Termas. It is mostly hard packed gravel with some muddy parts. High clearance recommended. A fun and easy road with our fully loaded dual sport motos.
Locals came this way with Midsize SUV's (e.g. Renault Duster). Do not do it in a tall vehicle since fallen trees will restrict you in driving through.

Report Check-In

We stayed at Termales la Gruta camping ground. We entered from the north going downhill. The last 5km were ok. Seemed worse than it was for us as it was raining heavily and thick fog.

We left La Gruta downhill on this road. It was quite rough and pretty bad in places. Seasoned off road riders shouldn’t have a problem. It was tricky for us but we’re not overly experienced off road. We made it though. We were riding heavily loaded T7s. A couple of nasty rocky sections but rideable.

The 10km kept us entertained for an hour or so anyway!

Report Check-In

We have to confirm, the road is heavily washed out and hardly doable, not for 4x4 and not even for Dual Sport Bikes if loaded with luggage.
They are currently building new road up from Gallinazo to the Termales but that might still take a time to finish.
