This is a FREE hot springs with two or three pools and a shower. Frequented by area campers.
There is a parking lot with "no overnight" posted. But several areas nearby where overnight parking would not be noticed. Just check the dirt roads nearby and along the canal. There is also a campground across the street but we did not check details.
The hot spring parking area has pit toilets, concrete surrounding, shade, seating. Used all day and through the night. Bring flashlights at night.
This is alongside Hwy 8 at Vanderlinden Exit. This is accessible by all vehicles.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
On the edge of LTVA paid camping area. Water available at hot springs (I use to water plants and clean dishes)
Plenty of spots along road to camp, if you’re adventurous and can deal with loose sand, there are additional areas to park/camp. 1-11-2023 thru 3-28-2023 (camped south of highway 3-28 thru 4-8
Nice place for LTVA trash only here no water or dump pay $40/ 2 weeks...Tried to get into the hot springs but there seems to be several ppl living in there vans and cars there we have been here for 5 days and the same ppl are taking up all the hot spring baths...Very disappointing will not return to this place....
Report Check-InLong term BLM camp site. pretty flat sandy sites, surrounded by brush. some highway noise. All day light smell of something burning. Air quality is not great.
Report Check-InRoad was very smooth. Dirt piled along the sides would assume recently worked on.
Worked well for an overnight and soak in springs on way in and out
Report Check-InQuick stop here for a soak and a nights sleep just a couple miles south under the HWY. it's a small pool and right next to the HWY but the palms make you feel like you are in an oasis. Hot springs were clean, as were pit toilets and the free BLM land was pretty nice.
Report Check-Innice free camping on the South side of the highway and only 2 miles from the hot springs. or you can pay $40 for up to 14 days and stay across the street from them on long term BLM. excellent cell coverage with T-Mobile. very quiet but quite a few other RV and tents out here.
Report Check-InAwesome free hot springs! very well maintained and beautiful little oasis in the desert. Water is alegedly drinkable and many campers from across the street drink it despite the high mineral content.
Report Check-InGreat little spot where you can meet locals, other rubber tramps, and snow birds. Instead of staying at the campsite, we took the little dirt path immediately on the East side of the canal, heading North. We kept our eye out for other RVs and tried to find a spot beyond where they were parked for a little more privacy. We turned into the desert at the second right hand turn, but there are a few options to turn in. Just find your self a little spot in the shade, and you're set! Tip: there are quite a few mosquitos because of the canal, so be sure to venture a little further East to get away from the bloodsuckers. The attached picture is of the hotsprings, not where we camped, but it is a little oasis paradise.
Enjoy!
We stayed one night on the opposite side (south side) of the interstate where camping is free. Either ask the campground host across the street where it's OK to camp for free on BLM land (about 2 miles from hot springs) or you can pay him to stay there. It was $40 for short stay and $180 for long term stay. We chose to drive to free area.
Report Check-InSmall concrete pool with shower fountain. surounded by concreete pad. The Snowbird resident close it on tuesday morning to drain and clean the pools
