Camping at the abandoned section of Ruta 7. Flat and perhaps a little wind protection possible.

unfortunately still closed due to road work on this section of the routa 7!
Report Check-In4runner / rooftent good spot for the night, not sure how long it will be available as they are putting in barriers but can still get in at the top of the loop.
Report Check-Injust us, the strong wind and those amazing views make this one of our favorite spots of the carreterra.
Report Check-InGreat camp spot! Hardly any traffic. The views are incredible. Good find!
Report Check-InWe stopped for photos but this would make a great camp location. Access is along the original road which is now bypassed, thus leaving the sweeping corner and a large flat field as a lookout or camp option. Wind would be a factor but there is a small dugway that could shield from the wind.
Report Check-InThis was a beautiful, large and quiet place to camp! There's a short gravel road leading from the Carretera Austral which leads to this mirador. This gravel road doesn't get traffic at all but a couple tour vans did show up the morning after we camped. There's a HUGE flat area for all kinds of camping, but this place got pretty windy the night we were there. So it might be best to camp near the rocks. The view is pretty stunning.
