Slow but interesting drive to get here from Clifton from the south through the copper mine and up H L saddle. Pulled in to this campground after dark on a Friday night and had no problem finding a spot. No cell. Nice pit toilets.

Absolutely serene. One of our favorite dry camping spots ever, with a very clean forest service pit toilet. There were three deer grazing in the woods when we arrived, completely unbothered by our presence. The sweet spring babble of the creek, ample shade, nice picnic tables. I would make this a destination spot to return to. Love how out of the way it is, and 191 is a beautiful road. All in all a wonderful place to stay during the spring in AZ. We have a Volks/Atlas all wheel drive pulling a 5x10 and did just fine with careful maneuvering. Gorgeous crystals in the area too. We were the only ones. Two vehicles drove through during the day, and about two others drove past on the road. This is out of the way.
