Something not right?

Description

Parking lot in front of the police station. Grassy with coconut trees, right on the ocean side. This is really where you have to stay in the area. An old bar was not used anymore so we used the installations that have a great terrasse with a wonderfull view. There are basic shower and toilet. Francisco, the guard, is very nice and helpfull. The police looks after the parking lot so this is very safe. We stopped for one day and we stayed 5. Price is 6$ per night for 2. Easy to get wifi from the bard around. At night place is patrolled by tourist police. Felt very safe.

Anyway, people here are the most rude we met from Alaska. We couldn't pass the road because of the truck parket on the street so we asked if we can park here only for few hours and we would go surfing until it leaves. No, we have to leave immediately. We have to go to the wrong direction even if it's one way road. When I asked if I can call the police because I don't think it's allowed to go that way thay said I can't call them. Don't waste your time here they're a bunch of alcoholics.

Report Check-In

No campers allowed. We made it here through these narrow streets to find out the boss doesn't want campers anymore. On an empty parking lot.

Report Check-In

Police no longer stays here, local said it is not nice on weekends as there are drunk people going to the beach and passing by here (it has mo gate/fences. Weird for camping, especially tent campers. I went to Surfers Inn, a gem for $6 with everything and shade!

Report Check-In

Big parking lot, the entrance is from the main road. Cheapest place we found here.
6$ per night. A bit loud but it’s ok for one or two night.
No toilet

Report Check-In

No amenities, basically just a rundown parking lot with close access to the beach. $6 per night.

Report Check-In

5usd for one big rig, one person.
This is the only place a big rig will squeeze in.
Looks like an excavator has flattened any buildings, showers reported by others.
Great location, the site is a dump, nice old boy and wife guard the place. Safe.
if you need a shower or toilet probably talk to the bar next door.

Report Check-In

En plein centre ville et proche de la mer.
Bruyant le soir à cause des bars qui mettent la musique forte mais très bon spot avec douche et toilette 😉.

see photo for wifi from bar next door. it is not very fast but works for messenger and email.

Report Check-In

as described before. still $8 per night. the place is nice and clean and the owners are very friendly. loud music until 1 am from the bar next door and lots of drunk partygoers thereafter on saturday night. but at least u can use their wifi (see photo)
el tunco itself in our opinion is overrated and too touristy with too high prices. we stayed one night and continued on to San Blas which was a treat. skip el tunco (only rocky beach during this time of the year) and explore the other breaks and beaches!

Report Check-In

Turn left in front of the police station in to the parking lot. Still $ 8,- for 2 persons in a RV. Water, toilet, shower. The neighbours (Thekla bar)do like their reggaeton music for most of the day, In the weekend also in the evening and night: loud! Pro: you can walk straight in the ocean !

Report Check-In

Nice place on the ocean front. Bathrooms, showers and electricity.
We paid 8$ for 2 people and a campervan without hook-up.

Report Check-In

We paid 8$. rudimental toilet and shower.

Report Check-In

it's 8$ now, for 2, without power. But the place is great, just front of the beach, nothing fancy but everything you need.

Report Check-In

Good place. Good sea view. Really noisy on weekends because there is a bar just next, but still a good option. $3 pp per nigh.

Oceanfront. 6 dollars a night. Half built bar is perfect beachfront spot. By far best spot we've seen here. Okay facilities but can not beat location. Party is loud and late on the weekends but mucho tranquillo all week.

Report Check-In

Great spot- room for 6-8 campers close to the beach- really nice family runs the place- básic cold showers (great water pressure and semi warm water at times). one bathroom that is kept clean and mostly stocked with toilet paper. $6 per night +$2 electricity. WiFi accessible from place next Door. ice available at one tienda for cheap. tienda run by nice people across the street sells vegetables and fruit for decent price always, trucks come by in the morning with slightly better prices.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Great spot, agree with recent comments. The bar next door is very loud on Friday and Saturday nights until 1-2am. Still totally worth it and we stayed 2 weeks.

Report Check-In

Definitely not quiet, but great spot to enjoy Playa El Tunco for a couple of days. No power at sites, only at Monkey Lala bar. Wifi at bar. Washrooms, showers at bar.
Lots of garbage, but this seems pretty standard in El Salvador.
Security on site til 8pm, then you're in the hands of the tourism police who may or may not be there.

Report Check-In

Great spot to stay practically on the beach with your vehicle. Don't make the mistake to take the public parking but the next entrance with cobble stones. We stumbled upon this place by accident and stayed almost a week. Some small shops and nice restaurants all within walking distance, great waves and beautiful sunsets. Showers and toilets are basic but clean enough, wifi can be found in different bars and Movistar has excellent reception. We paid 8us per night for a place with electricity.
