Description

Jabulani is a fantastic hostel for travellers. 1000-1500KES pppn. Breakfast included. Dorms (mixed and male/female-only) and private rooms. Plenty of space for secure bicycle storage. Good WiFi. Plenty of space to hang washing - no washing machine available yet, but a cleaning lady can wash for you if you ask.

The bunk bed mattresses are rock solid, you can get a good night's sleep. The nights and mornings are quiet. The mosque next door does do morning prayers at 5am but it's short and in tune.

New hostel since late 2023, so not many Google reviews, but the vibe is really positive. The manager Susan is brilliant, she knows Nairobi well, speaks fluent English, and runs a happy hostel. People stay here for a long time, and they return. I've heard of others who left for another hostel in Nairobi but came back to Jabulani because it's nicer.

Space to hangout in the living room, TV with Netflix available, board games, hammocks outside for chill time.

Hostel is 5min walking distance to a great mall (Sarit Centre) with a huge Carrefour, so you can get anything you need. Cheap transport options to city centre from outside hostel.

The lat/long shows the actual entrance gate, Google goes to the wrong gate.

Latest Check-Ins

Not a bad place to stay. 6 beds in the mixed room. My 2nd night here there were many mosquitos in the room, but they have mosquito nets on the way for all the beds. It was 1550kes for a bed normal price but I found it on booking for $10(1310kes). Met a lot of other backpackers here. Room for a few small rigs or bikes in the parking lot.
