Too many options around.
For us, JM Hotel was the best. Not the most charming place, but OK.
Basic rooms from 20.000 to 35.000. We took at 25.000.
Wifi, AC, fan, bathroom inside, cold shower, TV, 2 breakfast on the roof top terrace...
For us the most important thing was the parking. We visited Zanzibar during 3 weeks and we left our 4x4 during 3 weeks here. Totally safe. Security 24 hours (gate+watchman). And for free, we did not pay anything but we paid 2 nights (1 before to go to Zanzibar, 1 after Zanzibar when we came back).
The owners are very nice people, we stayed in touch by whatsapp all the time.
Around here there are more options, some cheaper some more expensive. But we prefered here.
Too many shops, bars and restaurants around, so by night it is a little bit noisy.
Tip : you can take the fast bus to go to the ferry or to the city center (25 minutes, 750 per people).

We tried this place based on the review below and were very pleased. Friendly manager, extremely helpful and looked after our vehicle very well - large, secure car park behind the hotel.
The only downside was the noise - there are bars with loud music every night I would recommend getting an internal room
