Update Sept 2019: possible to buy at local price sin factura- negotiating in Spanish seems to help.

As of 10 June 2024, there was no gas in this, or the other gas station , in the town of Tiraque. Had to ask around and buy from tiendas at 5 bols per litre

Report Check-InWe wanted to fill our tank directly at the gas station. But he refused because we have a Chilean plate. We had to ask multiple times in Spanish and said others also filled up their tank directly. Finally he was ok with it and we gave him a tip as thanks. So not guaranteed that they will fill it up directly at the tank.

When we asked if we could also fill our jerry cans he told us to park our Chilean plated car around the corner and walk back with them. He then filled them at local price. We bought 70L in total. Very nice guy.

Speaking Spanish we too were able to get local price with a propina (sin factura).
Report Check-InWe haven't had any problem to fully fill our tank and jerrycan. We paid the local price and let a good tip for the señora who was really friendly. We negotiate in Spanish, that's surely helped us to only pay the local price.
