Get your Foreigner Permit right of the departure terminal. Bring a passport photo, copy of your passport photo page and a photocopy of your visa plus a letter written from your accommodation (they will know what to do). Cost 530£. After you have this don't forget to get your "photo and travel permit", see the POI on iOverlander just east of the airport. I had a two week transit visa with an extra stamp saying I had to do this on the border or here in Khartoum.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
S£550 = $1.5 took about 30min. Completed without hotel letter after some convincing. Could register after being in country for 3 weeks.
Report Check-InOn the right of the departure terminal entrance there is a small corridor, in the same building. You don’t need to actually enter the terminal. In that corridor there is a window on your left with a sign that says “Visas”. Over there they will give you a form to fill out. No need for ID pic as mentioned. Then you have to take this form to the immigration office nearby (see pin for “foreigner permit step 2”) to pay and get the stamp.
Report Check-InBuilding is more purple color with a green sign and white writing. It is a little hidden behind trees and to the left of a eating place. We did not need photographs nor a letter from the hotel/sponsor. We actually had by chance a fixer who rushed both applications quickly through the system for S£100
Report Check-InIt’s the blue building at your right (across the parking) when you drive into the airport, about 100m before the departure terminal.
They told me my transit visa doesn’t need to be registered, despite the stamp in my passport saying ‘register within 3 days’. However, if you ask at the main immigration office (see option 2 waypoint) it IS required. I registered there after 12 days to be on the safe side and to extend my transit visa.
Report Check-InIndeed the price is now SP. 530,-
They didn't need the letter of a hotel or a passport photo with us. Make sure you show your passport copies etc. immediately or they will make a copy for you and charge you for it.
i paid 535 sudan pounds. i tried to find a "cheaper police station" but it seam this is the price for the registration.
