Just outside of Custer, MT on BLM Land. Cliff side overlooking the river. Close to I-94. Go down Buffalo Creek Road then follow the two track out to the ridge. The road stops right at the Cliff so be careful not to drive too far. Beautiful views and nobody else around. Stayed one night.

Amazing views of the Yellowstone river in the valley below. The 2 track road mentioned in the previous review is deeply rutted but passable.
Use extreme caution, pulling into the Bluff campsite, as it drops straight off into the Yellowstone River. Probably wouldn't recommend this site if you have kids.
Main campsite shown in my photos has a very nice fire ring, the other spur right next to it drops off all around with no fire ring… Maybe good for a tent or tent top?
There appears to be another campsite. (still on BLM land) about halfway between the Bluff and the road. Check out Google overhead imaging.
A bit of leveling was required, but not much. 3 to 4 bars of AT&T LTE, occasional train noise across the river… lots of cows over there that you can occasionally here also. Coyotes at night.
Stayed one night… F350 slide in camper.
If you stay up here, try not to dream about the end scene from Thelma and Louise.
