Part of the national grasslands so legal route to camp at. move the gate open at 7146 and close it after you. road is easily done with 2WD. we saw lots of pronghorns and prairie dogs. if you want more info in person talk to the national grasslands visitor center in Wall.
there will be easy spots to turn.

we stayed here last night. as per the previous post, just open the gate and close it behind you. a large area. ground is the "clay" like material found throughout the badlands. area is also in a flood zone. we had 1-2 mm of rain and it was dried up before morning. agreed though with much more rain you would easily become stuck. seems to be a common issue in the area. lots of catcus around so just watched your step! heard coyotes in the distance but never saw any!
