Description
We parked near the Parque, next to the Alcaldia Municipal (a building with a security guard and cameras) and our van got broken into in the middle of the day!! The security guard didnt notice anything. They stole luckily only our labtop and camera. Everybody told us Ataco is very safe and that we could just park near the Parque without problems. Better find another place!!

We were here a couple weeks ago for two nights with no problems. Came back today for lunch and while we were gone our van had been broken into. They stole a laptop, a Nintendo 3DS and a homeopathic remedies kit. They didn't steal our speaker, or anything else of value so it could have been worse. BE CAREFUL in this town. Try to park somewhere where you can see your vehicle or pay for safe parking.
Report Check-InWe stayed two night at the main square. Feel safe. Extra security measure because this is very touristic place particularly at the weekends. A brand new card with local place was broken into. A lot of people no body saw anything. Be extra careful if you decide to stay. There are many restaurants in the square where you can enjoy and have your vehicle on view. Small town you can visit in half day.
