Dead end street at lake shore. Beautiful spot to camp. Some rubbish around, some cars with loud music, but had a quiet night. Not sure about weekend nights. Level, spacious, free.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Chill spot at the end of the road that leads to the lake. Neighbors were playing music til about midnight but they didn’t bother us. Good for one night.
Report Check-InFYI. you can park down here but not right on the lake anymore. Pretty safe on any of the streets down around here if you are in a bind.
Report Check-InEl lugar es tranquilo y de fácil acceso. Justo al lado hay un restaurante grande. El lugar es seguro ya que la policía pasa a vigilar y también a preguntar que tal estamos.
Report Check-InWe got here last night in the dark. It isn’t much like Google maps satellite image anymore. Officially called Parque Riberas del Pilar. There is a big arch sign over the entrance. Now the point is grown over and green but the big green field beside it is now a gravel parking area. So we stayed there. Very nice spot. A couple of cars showed up around midnight to hang out and enjoy the view. Some of these guys are pretty good singers when they are drunk. I couldn’t sleep because I had a double cappuccino at the awesome Italian restaurant just up the road. So no big deal. The rain sent everyone home. I recommend maybe park away from the water so the late night visitors are not too close.
Report Check-InEdit: owner of the restaurant says police will send us away if we would stay there. We were allowed to camp on the grounds of the restaurant for only $500 pesos, how generous... Went a little further to the site called 'Malecon'.
Report Check-InBeautiful view of the lake! There's a (new?) restaurant/bar located here and you can't park at the lake front anymore because of huge concrete flower pots. Anyway, still a great location!
Report Check-Inupdate. cannot drive to the end of the point anymore. Park improvements.
Report Check-InLots of litter and noisey locals drinking in the evening, but sunrise totally made up for it!
We camped, the ground is very hard, bring spare pegs...
Report Check-InStayed here 2 nights! Like the last update- was hard to leave. Quiet and safe option on the outskirts of Guadalajara. The first night we woke up to knocks from the police at 12 midnight. They searched the van looking for guns and drugs. Nothing to be found- they were so friendly and joked with us about our binoculars. Positive experience here 🤗
Report Check-InWhat a beautiful location to park the van for a night or longer. We were the only ones camped here overnight and it was a lovely quiet spot - perfect spot to wind down, relax and chill out. A little bit of trash around but wasn’t a huge issue and also no amenities. Some locals and gringos came past to walk there dog and chill out which wasn’t an issue. We wanted to swim in the lake but it seemed a little murky. Would highly recommend staying here if you’re wanting a quiet spot slightly out of the towns of Chapala/Ajijic
Report Check-InWe spent 2 nights. We loved this spot. 180 degrees amazing view on the lake. Incredible sunrise and sunset. Some cars come and go during the day. Police woke us up on the first night we stayed there. They were surprised to see a van parked here at night. They told us they would check up on us few times during the night to make sure we were ok. Really kind. It was hard to leave that spot.
Report Check-Innot à quiet night : come here on saturday, drunk people had come from midnight To 3 am with loud music. Somebody drunk shake the car during one hour, I had to go twice outside to tell him not touching our car....
the place has nice view, but lot of trash around.....

Report Check-Inas indicated, nice spot, several other travelers and local gringo's showed up.
when every visitor picks up some of the rubbish it maybe will be cleaner.
