We wanted to camp closer to Kennedy Peak, but this was the flattest spot we could find. Very cool at night and lots of birds. We felt safe. If you are heading up the mountain the spot will be on right as the road turns left.

We went there, and the park, as in other place, build a fence. No more accessible.
Report Check-InCamped here for one night on our way up. It was about about an hour and a half, maybe less to get to the top in the morning. Definitely needs a 4x4 especially in the wet weather.
