Description

GPS is entrance to several spots where one can tuck into the dunes, approx. 3km off main road to get to them. When clear, great views of the volcano. When we arrived, there wasn't much wind and we thought we tucked in well next to a dune to block any wind but it shifted and was incredibly windy throughout the night.

Beautiful spot indeed on the volcanic rocks. During the day we had nice views of the vulcano. At night it was freezing but we managed to stay warm with some extra clothing and blankets. Many vicuñas around!

What a beautiful free spot. We just parked 500-750m from the main road. Because we were a little bit scared driving much further because of the dips in the road. It was windy but not that cold during the day we arrived. The next morning was super cold. But really worth the view of this incredible vulcano.

Nice spot to spend the night. Plenty of space, quiet and peaceful. Arrived in the dark so didn’t go too far. Not much wind but woke up to my car covered in a sheet of ice. No cops.

We loved this spot, completely in the wilderness, lots of vicunjas, view of the volcano in the morning more clear, no houses no people nothing except wilderness. Choose your spot (easy without 4x4) One of the best spots in ecuador we think.

Beautiful spot! Came here in the evening with thick fog, easy to miss (coming from Chimborazo it is a left turn). Woken up by cops at 6am, the sun comes out from behind Chimborazo, many vicuñas, and just excellent views. Free!
