Closed. The refugio is closed for visitors

the park and the refuge are open only between **8:00-16:00**, after 4pm the gate is close by chain and the guard not entering anybody
i came at 20:00 and he said that when the person of the restaurant leave he cannot enter anyone :(

payed $4pp to stay in the refugio.
not so clean rooms but okay for one night and especially when it is quite cold at night ! we had ice in the morning (late January). safe at night (the guard spends the night at the refugio). we could use the kitchen (no so clean clean as well...)

centro de visita donde hay que parar para registrarse antes de hacer cualquier excursión. se puede pernoctar en el parking por 4$ por persona.

We stayed in the basic refugio instead camping. There's a parking lot for vehicles where you can stay overnight, tents are allowed but we couldn't find a flat spot. Kitchen (with microwave), toilets & showers available, but we didn't ask for having a shower. Electricity only in the refugio. The restaurant closes at 4.30p.m. 4US$ pP/night for both camping or a bed in the refugio.

Camping at the visitor center. Clean toilets (only open during the day), museum, restaurant. In the middle of the mountains of Páramo.

Probably the most beautiful Paramo trail starts at the visitor center (no. 1 on the map). Also a nice, short hike goes around the lagoon Toreadora.

(Also originally $ 4 / person, but you have to camp us on the weekend without pay leave)
