Latest Check-Ins

Not a lot people back here, maybe 3 or 4 for the night. Road accessible by 2WD promaster no problem. Found a spot with a fire ring.

Was chill / quiet. That said, there seems to be a lot of logging happening in this area. There was 100’s of trees cut down & piled up as well as large piles of brush, and lots of large bull dozing equipment. Felt sad! This seems to be taking away from privacy in the area as well. There was also some trash in the spot I picked so I did a clean up.

Saw a bunch of bikers coming in the morning, there’s trails back here so that’s cool. Decent spot, but not the best boondocking. Wouldn’t stay more than a day or two, unless I wanted to be close to the trails or something.

As described, stayed 2 nights while exploring Bend. Folks still coming in at 11pm so must be lots of spots further back. Solid boondocking spot. ~ Vanpe Diem.

Neat spot. New dirt road, but the pullouts are tough in a sedan. Just drive careful and slow. Lots of people here, but we felt safe. Mostly quiet, except for a weird old couple shouting. Little road noise, but not disruptive. Very dusty!
Would recommend, very comfy, as long as you can find a spot!!!

Great place to camp in the woods not too far away from the town of Bend. And FREE. Got in around 7:30pm, and there were still several spots available. The gravel road looks newly maintained and seems to go up for awhile so I can’t imagine not being able to find a spot. Even with a bunch of people this place was so quiet and relaxing. I have AT&T and have great service. Most importantly I felt very very safe. There’s lots of room if you have a dog for them to run around in the woods. Overall a wonderful location if you are passing through or exploring the town of Bend. Would stay again.

Got here late and the place was fairly busy. Found a spot near the entrance, and seems nice enough. Good cell service.

Nice little spot up a decent angle. I'm in a 4 x 4 jeep, so this spot is probably only good for something similar. But right off the main road, and there were a few more pull-offs nearby for other smaller vehicles.

First dirt road after Phil's Trailhead. Camped here for a week. Always at least ten degrees cooler than town.

Entrance past the small parking area has a huge rut, unable to pass with our ford transit van. Super bummed out

Report Check-In

This is a long dirt road with lots of turnouts for vans and places for tents. No toilets and we had 5 vans on the road passing by but still a good place.

Very popular location about 10 minutes outside of Bend. I arrived around 8pm on a Saturday night and after driving a mile or so in, the road was more than what I wanted to deal with and all of the spots thus far were taken except for one (rutted out, uneven, giant roots, etc.).

I turned around and opted to take the spot next to the abandoned, torn apart mini van that nobody else wanted to park next to. I wasn’t hanging out outside the van, simply sleeping so I didn’t care. If you look at the map, the road appears to go quite a ways and should be accessible from another direction as well.

I had a few bars of Verizon service near the entrance of the road where I parked. The area was nice other than the abandoned van, but there were also some wild campers who kept me up from 2-3:30am unfortunately. Other than that, decent location if you don’t mind driving a less than ideal road to find an empty spot.

This is a great place to camp - only 10 minutes outside of Bend. There are quite a few people camping here but there is plenty of space, especially as you drive further down the forest road. Better for larger rigs to stay closer to the start of the road, but very accessible for any vehicle.

We’ve stayed here twice now and have been very happy. We’ve seen small RVs pulled into some spots and tents in others. We have a 2wd van and went pretty far in the second time. There further you go in the closer you get to one of the MTB trails if you go right and the first Y in the road.

Great area, many free sites. Most sites 2wd friendly. Not good for very large RVs. Close to town.
