Latest Check-Ins

Be careful of the road to the right as you come in. It’s easy to get stuck there and the road right next to the springs all the way upstream where it begins off of that road. I got stuck, van almost slipped I to the springs. I was able to get out by airing down my tires and rocking back and fourth. 10/10 do not recommend

That said if you can get back to that part the best camping away from the springs and other campers is just across above the springs

Report Check-In

One of the coolest spots! Hotsprings creek was just perfect with little depressions to comfortably sit in. A couple other campers dispersed. Down to -14C at night, but super nice!

Report Check-In

plenty of space. road in was in good shape despite rain sleet and snow for most of the day. check spring temperatures if possible. we recorded 126F at source. 117F at the man made hot tub. there's an area like a small water fall where it was 107. got in there. beautiful spot. free and better than paying $20 at alvord hot springs.

Report Check-In

Water is dangerously hot, I got scalded, recovering, and I was using it way far from the source. Water temperature changes a lot from day to day. They found 2 bodies in these springs years earlier, its thought water temp change was the cause. I picked toilet paper there right by the spring. It was crowded overnight, cant imagine anyone was soakin though, I was one step of going into ER in Winnemucca because of the burn

Amazing spot to camp overnight. Close to mile marker 74. Drive up nice flat wide dirt road for about 6-7 minutes . After you pass an abandoned RV, continue up til you see a white dirt road . Lots of private spots. We parked just past a large upside down L shaped pole, abandoned truck wash pole. Water temperature here was perfect. Temp gets hotter as you drive further up and cooler as you go down. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. Man-made Fire pits around. We biked up the dirt roads (great place for dirt bikes/ off road vehicles). But very easy for any rig to drive to lower parts of hot springs. Definitely recommend 😍

Get here, any size outfit can park. Slow is pro over the washboard.

Great spot, hot spring was lovely. Left a pair of womens size 6 Whites boots there. Send to PO Box 312, El Portal CA 95318 if you find them. Write your venmo on the box and I’ll pay you back for the postage.

I stopped here 4 or 5 years ago and was glad to have a route passing this way again! Super stoked to see this place has been respected and kept clean….let’s keep it that way.

No reception, complete disconnect time and great soaking! Definitely boggy and marshy in spots. Watch out for mice crawling into your vehicle…I had to wake up and start the engine to scare them out…well they woke me up!

Report Check-In

A wonderful place to disconnect. Very private.

Hot spring river! Main part of the soaking happens where it is deepest! But there are tons of little soaking spots I found. Super windy here. Any size rig friendly.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night near the main soaking pool. Water was cooler than a year ago and perfect for soaking. Great sunset and stars. Note: when there's a big water pump set up be ready for big trucks coming by in the morning, I think the water is used for irrigation. No other campers until one other car came very late at night.

Report Check-In

Great free camping next to the hot creek, cooler the further down the creek from springs you go.

Report Check-In

A desert beauty. Quiet and tranquil and still. Even with four or five groups camped spread out, it is still serene. There is no sign on the main road, but Google is accurate this time — and the road is dirt, but wide and clear and graded. No heavy rutting. Got in fine with my 2-wheel drive Sprinter. Lots of room! No cell service. No amenities.

Report Check-In

Very remote, nothin here but the occasional jackrabbit. Caution-springs are extremely hot. Will probably have to go more downstream to get in.
No cell service.

Great, remote spot. Stayed here on a Friday night and there was only one other camper. Hot spring creek is bathtub temperature, a number of different spots to camp right along it. Despite the warm days it was pleasant enough at night to go for a dip. There was a pretty big thunderstorm and downpour the evening I was there, and in the morning the exit roads back to gravel were VERY slick, so beware after rain.

Note: The map at nearby Virgin Creek shows this area as private land, so if that's the case be extra considerate when staying here!

Report Check-In

Stellar place to spend the night! There were four other groups camping the same night, and another three groups who came just for a day trip. Still, the hot springs/hot creek are large and there was room for everyone without even needing to see each other (social distancing, yay!).

Great remote camping at Bog Hot Spring where several springs create a hot creek. Ca 500 yards below the springs the river is cold enough to swim in several big pools at 106-112°F. No amenities, only great night sky and a big hot tub and absolute solitude.

Report Check-In

Fantastic place in middle of nowhere. Easy parking and the hot springs were incredible.

Report Check-In

Wide open boondocking along a hot spring stream. Room for larger rigs. Scout your approach, some roads are rutted but not all.

Report Check-In

Excellent spot with gorgeous hot springs. Saw two other cars the entire time we were here. Room enough for big rigs, and low clearance vehicles should be fine. To find the springs keep an eye out for the steam they produce. If youre like us and getting in late, there are plenty of pull offs where you can just camp until daytime.
