Description

Ferry runs every day but times differ day to day - see attached photo of the current timetable. Buy tickets from the office in the bus station, or in advance online (recommended to book well in advance for vehicles as they sell out quickly).

You can also get put on a waiting list where the ferry departs (used to be at the ticket office) - they usually leave space for a few extra cars anyway.

Took the ferry on 25/03/2024 with our car.

Did not book in advance and all tickets were sold out already one week before (for vehicles, not for persons). You still have a chance to get on the ferry through the waiting list, but you must be lucky:

Residents from Chile Chico (not Chile) go first and then all others. The order for the waiting list is determined by the people waiting at the ferry one hour before the ferry departs, which is a little difficult if you don’t speak Spanish (especially if many people are waiting). If you go for the waiting list, make sure that you show up early (two or even more hours before departure) and chat with other who are waiting to ensure your order number on the waiting list. Older reviews suggest that the waiting list is at the ticket office, but for us it was not.

We failed to get on the ferry on Sunday afternoon (3 residents and 3 others made it) and on Monday morning we made it (two residents and us. I don’t know if people came after us).

If you have booked a ticket for your vehicle (recommended). Show up one hour before departure because then they will start embarking. If you show up 15 minutes before departure, it may be that they won’t let you on anymore.

We tried to book by email but they never answered, so we went to the office at the bus terminal in Chile Chico the day before. The boat for the next day was already full, we were 7th on waiting list... We really thought it wasn't possible, but we got on board! We were the last ones, just enough space for our van. We paid (cash) on the boat. The journey takes 2h and it's very nice, really worth it. We were happy to avoid doing this part of the Ruta 7 (pretty bumpy, a lot of washboard).

Ferry times at the moment from C.C. to P.I. appear to be 8am and 5pm. Buy tickets online or in the bus station; the waiting list book is also in the office at the bus station. It is possible to be put on the waiting list on more than one day in case you don't get lucky the first time. We were 4th today and managed to get on, plus a couple more behind us, too.

You can book tickets through navieraustral.cl, we paid 24k for 2 persons and a small campervan. The ticket says you have to be there 3 hours in advance with a vehicle, when we asked they said 2 hours in advance, but when we arrived 1,5 hours before departure we were the first ones there.

office is inside the bus station, next to the main square. They ship a bike for 1500 and a human for 2300. Very nice staff, both at the office and at the boat.

Wrong location...we look for the correct one, Tickets Not sold at the ferry terminal...

Cost us 23,000 CLP for two people and our Kombi. Initially they said they were full for the next 3 days, but we were put on a waiting list and got on the ferry the same day. Times differ each day, and the booking office opens at 2:00 (do as the other post says and get there early to be first on the list!) You can access your car during the trip, and there are outlets next to seating.

Ferry runs every day but times differ day to day - see attached photo of the current timetable. Unsure how you reserve a spot but you can also turn up at the office and get put on a waiting list - they usually leave space for a few extra cars anyway. Get there at 2pm when they reopen after lunch so you're first in line! Would say it's much busier in high season though...
