TeleferiQo de Quito | Tourist Attraction

The teleferico is open. $9/pp for foreigners for a roundtrip ride. Dogs under 30cm tall are free. Over 30cm are $5 roundtrip.

The Rucu Pichincha hike that starts at the top of this cable car is awesome training for altitude before Cotopaxi. You reach 4700 meters and it’s beautiful. Take the earliest ride up to ensure you have enough time before they close at 6pm. We took about 6-7 hours with loads of breaks. Pet-friendly hike.

Beautiful view at the top when the clouds go away. There is a swing at 10 minutes walking, for a funny photo.
A bit expensive : 9$pp + 5$ for our dog.
As a bonus, behind the building of the teleferico, there is an agility park to train/play with your dog!

Just checking in to update that the price is now $9pp and that both the Teleférico and the hikes in this area are pet friendly!

We hiked to Rucu Pinchinca, about 5 hours (no guide!) and you go up to 4700m. Last bit was completely in the fog. Bring layers and proper hiking shoes/boots.

Drive up here will make you save the cost of the telepheric but the road is in really bad conditions!
At least the view is nice !

It is an teleferic at 3.900 meters above sea level where is possible have an amazing view of Quito and its around places. It also possible to come close to a volcan and doing a litle tour on the moutains. At the up there are some smal stores and restorants. The teleferic cost USD 8.50 per person. To come there from Quito downtow you have to take a bus to Comuna (USD 0.25) and take a free bus to TeleferiQo Station. Its possible to come by driving, there is a parking lot.
