Tanzania
A pleasant place to stop over on the way to/from Malawi. Camping 5000tsh, rooms from 15000tsh. There was no food available when I was there, but the owner is friendly and speaks good English.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We arrived at 5.30pm without any notice and were very warm welcomed. It’s indeed a basic campspot (Asian toilets + water bucket showers) but all good. And you but do have coverage for your network + the owner is very friendly. We bought fresh eggs from his chickens for our breakfast 🥰 he doesn’t have many visitors and he works hard to maintain the campspot and the garden. If you need a place to stay and you are not a luxury camper - I would stay here!
Report Check-InArrived in the dark last-night after crossing the border from Malawi. Had to ask some locals where to exit the main road, as the sign is down an embankment !
Alfred directed my to the camping area & showed me the toilets & where I could wash (cold bucket shower). We also negotiated a rate, which he more than halved, 'generously' settling for 10,000tsh (turns out, that's more than I should have paid for what I was getting) ... no electricity :(
Report Check-Inwere very happy to find this after a long delay at the border. friendly welcome. learned we were the 3rd visitors this year. considering this, the place was in decent shape, bathrooms clean. however, it seems to be slowly falling apart. no water in the bathrooms or shower, just a bucket. Price was 30,000 TZS or US$15 for camper with 2 adults.
Report Check-InI think this used to be a very nice campsite with things like a bar and garden. There are almost no guests now. You can still use the bar area to stay dry when it rains but the bar itself is not open.
Pit toilets. No hot water. No electricity. Good for one night after cruising the border.
TSH23.000 pppn, children free
We don't really agree with comments below that it is a 'nice' place. But it is OK. You have some grass, a long drop, cold not running water. Friendly enough manager.
Report Check-InPeaceful place with a pretty garden. Rooms are fine and include a bathroom. Alfred, the owner is friendly and helpful. Nice place for a stopover
Report Check-InVery nice clean place for stopover.Friendly owner Alfred. Big tree for good shade.Paid 5000/pP/night
Report Check-InVery friendly owner Alfred, very basic ablutions. When we there, he had a problem with the (still cold) shower so we had to wash out of a bucket. But this problem is just temporary he told us. Ok for a stop over before or after crossing the border. Price was 10000 tsh for 2 and a car.
Report Check-InNot obvious from the road. Go down the ditch at the small round sign, follow the "dirt road" to the camp.
Alfred the owner is very friendly. Still no hot shower, food and drinks on request.
Off the road, access by driving down the ditch at the small sign. Small path doesn't look like a road at first.
Very nice and quiet. Alfred the owner is very friendly. Still no hot water, food on request.
