Description

Right on the shores of lake Titicaca in Juli is a small camping area. Tent campers can camp right on the beach here, those in trucks can park in the lot nearby. We paid a guy 6S for the night. Area to eat and pit toilets, nice toilets inside for 1s. Best way for big rigs to get down here (if coming from Puno) is to drive past the city and then take a very hard left (almost a u turn) on the paved road that leads to the plaza de armas. From there, just head towards the water.

Good Spot to spend a Night. Best place is prob close to blue house. There was a security guard def used to bike travellers. There is a bathroom by the blue house at the entrance. On the left side of the beach there might be people drinking at night. So was I told by people who drank there.

As mentioned above the turn to the camping area is a left hand turn on to a dirt road before you hit the lake and the pier. This road takes you to the west side of the beach and next to a couple of buildings that look like warehouses. These buildings are owned by a nice guy who owns some quad bikes and is happy to help. If you are tent camping you can actually go further west along the beach above a load of rocks.

Toilets are on the pier between the restaurant/bar and the shop. The door is a brown/orange colour and was unlocked all the time we were there. Although they are not particularly nice toilets and are operated using a bucket.

Nice spot before/after border crossing. Friendly people on the village, good white bread.
We asked to the soldiers in the nearby base and told it is safe and lot of van overnight there.
Quiet, nobody collecting money.

Very nice place, but not so easy to find. You must drive around the military station and then down to the beach. Nobody wanted money. We couldn't find toilets.

Nobody came to charge us, no toilets. But arriving at it was dark, it was helpful to have a waypoint
