Very good spot, we had a quiet night here (arrived around 9 PM) and felt safe. People started to arrive to visit the monument around 8:30-9 AM. Great option close to Uspallata.
Report Check-InGreat mountain views, lovely sunset, quiet. Note you are visible from the road here.
Report Check-InQuiet, felt safe, gravel ground. Few cars stopped for the monument in the morning.
Report Check-Inthis is really the edge of town. The view is very open. If you like evening and morning sun this s thé place to be. Old Silver ovens and ruin off mineral mill date from 17th century. Museum free. Open from 8 untill 19.30.
Report Check-Ingreat views, great sunset, perfect for big rigs. quiete at night.
Report Check-InSince all the campgrounds in town seem a little undesirable we went here. Just out of town and totally empty, gravel parking in front of a historic monument. When we arrived around 8 pm a woman who works there came out and we feared she might send us away. Instead she feared that we might want a late visit to the museum as she was getting ready to leave. She said sleeping on the parking would be no problem. Good free option in town, great views. Museum supposedly opens at 8 in the morning, also on Sundays. Very quiet night
Report Check-InNice and quiet place. Views on mountains are good but they are spectacular at sunrise. Don’t miss that!
Report Check-InGood place to sleep before or after cross Paso De Los Libertadores. We stay here for one night. Nice view from Andes. We take awesome photos :)
Report Check-Inquiet place but windy at night (april). we were the only ones here and when the museum opened in the morning it was no problem that we were still sleeping in our rooftent. good free spot in uspallata
Report Check-InQuiet during the night, view to the cordillera in the morning.
It is worth a quicky visit to the free museum.
We camped here because all the places we found in the desert were along washes, and a storm was brewing for the night. The desert near here has tons of really beautiful places to boondock, however, we didnt feel comfortable sleeping near washes in the rain, but this place was quiet and peaceful for the night, and close enough to town to go for fresh bread in the morning.
