Stayed one night. Quiet even though the whole lot was filled with cars for a baseball game. We parked at the end of the street. I heard a train two or three times during the night, loud enough to wake us up.
And, we brought a few of those picky spur things into the van. Ouch!
Museum is closed. Still a good place to stay. Stayed here one night quiet level asphalt lot. We were joined by two other campers during the evening. Had a good breakfast at "Get your Kix" on Old 66 going east in town
Report Check-InStayed two nights with no issues! We were by ourselves for the first night and then joined by several other rigs the second night. I don’t think the museum is open anymore. Great Verizon reception.
Report Check-InAs described. Looks like it is a solid spot. Ended up not staying because the sand spurs were too rough on my pup’s paws.
Report Check-InOur first stop in New Mexico. Great to arrive in Tucumcari at sunset with all the neon signs lighting up. This car park was quiet and safe for a overnight stay and we used the toilets and water fountain in the polling station the next morning
Report Check-InNice location for a over night stay. Close to restaurants in town. I parked at the very end with no issues.
If you just passing through using Rt 54 there are a number rest stop you can use if the timing of this location is not good
Report Check-InQuiet night, even on a Saturday. some train and road noise in the distance, but with a light noise maker, it wasn't really noticeable. Grocery store in town, and good wifi at the library.
Report Check-InNice quiet spot. Stayed here one night alongside the trees. Train stopped around 10:30 PM. Felt safe. No one else around. Got breakfast burritos at Ruby’s diner down the street in the morning!
Report Check-InSpent 1 night in my motorhome in the museum parking lot by the tree line. Nice big empty lot for turning around. Low traffic area, but train tracks across the highway. Train traffic wasn't bad at late hours though. No issues with location for me
Report Check-Inlarge quite street, good for a Quick overnight stopp, the electricity wind tourbine is loud, no street noise, no traffic, less lights, safe place
Report Check-InGreat place to overnight. Large parking lot easy access in and out.
Report Check-InWe’d originally stopped about an hour east at a picnic rest area, but it was horrible and dirty and right between i50 and the train tracks, so we decided to move on and spend the night here by the museum... SO glad we did!! This place is nothing fancy, but it’s very quiet, there is plenty of space and it felt very safe. We slept like babies.
We went straight down the gravel road and parked by the ball park on the right. No one bothered us, no one even came down that road and we were there until around 11am the next day. Great over night stop!
Stayed here 1 night with no issues. Parked along the tree line in the parking lot. Pretty quiet accept the occasional train going by and the heavy winds that came through in the early morning.
Report Check-InQuiet spot with a view. Parked at the end of the gravel road along the trees/valley/creek. Watch for cacti if you’ve got pets. Beautiful sunset views with minimal noise.
Report Check-InArrived before dark and parked along the tree line in the museum parking lot. We had a truck camper pulling a cargo trailer. Plenty of room, no problems at this site...
Report Check-InQuiet spot on the edge of the town area. We arrived in the dark and didn’t see the museum as it’s set back from the road quite a bit. GPS coordinates took us just down the gravel road beside the ball diamonds and we camped there. Quiet, flat and dark. Recommend for an easy overnight stop.
Report Check-InQuite place to stay at the end of a gravel road by the ball fields. Enjoyed a lovely fireworks display. Plenty of shade. Felt very safe and secure.
Report Check-InAlso possible to find a quiet spot a bit further along this dead-end road along the sportings fields.
Report Check-Inwa stayed 1 night here. there is a playground and it is jusy near the museum of road66
