Report Check-InAttempted to check this spot out and the road via BLM was temporarily closed due to wildfire danger. Didn’t try to get around via another route
Report Check-InWe arrived here close to sunset and the mosquitoes we're no joke. We hid inside our can to keep from being eaten alive.
Report Check-InVery nice peaceful spot some distance from the main camping area and pit toilets. Room for about 3 or 4 larger campers
Report Check-Innice place. lots of frogs! north entrance was closed but we entered from the south so it didnt seem to matter.
Report Check-Ingreat spot happen to get there on memorial day when everyone was leaving. Explored all the other little lake around the area as well
Report Check-InGreat spot by ❤ Lake! Beautiful sunset even though youre down by a lake with hills/small mesas all around (can't see far). More, larger spots just down the road if this spot is taken. LOTS of mosquitos, (after all, you ARE right by a lake) but lemon eucalyptus did the trick. A simple scramble (class 2 - if that) up the 10-15' cliff band wall up by the turnoff to the east gives an amazing view of the sunrise, other campsites down the road, and the next lake over! For how flat the landscape in the area is, this site has some amazing views if you're willing to walk/scamble for a few minutes
Report Check-Inlarge turnoff on what myself and the rock graffiti calls rock lake. middle of public hunting blm land. quiet. 4 miles of washboard roads though. little cell service on Verizon. Also a larger campsite just slightly down the road.
Just down the road at canal lake (500ft) is more campsites and pit toilets.
