Description

CLOSED.
.....
Here you can camp next to the river & lake. Easy access for big & small rigs. The river is clear and the water looks great (in the afternoon). Sandy beach! No people, shade and an old bridge to jump into the water. Don't park your vehicle directly next to the water because the water level rises and falls every day. If the water is brown just wait one day and you will see how the color change. Firewood is around to make a campfire. One of our favorite wild camps...... no cell service

ruined as well is now a construction site for road works or something. No other possible spots in the area either so don't bother driving down here.

Report Check-In

This place is now closed. They are doing some construction and taking out sand and materials. 😔

We didn’t actually stay here, but update on the road is amazing for motobikes! Lots of dirt and gravel, mud and pot holes in places, a few minor sections but brilliant riding and amazing views!

great spot to spend a day or two! we took the road from San Carlos and the views are absolutely jaw dropping! amazing road to get here. 100 percent recommended

Indeed great spot just at the river Caldera.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In the middle of the jungle and one of the nicest wild camping spots we had in a while!

Could observe loads of colourful birds, swim in the crystal clear water (afternoon), jump from the old bridge (care for water depth) and take a sunbathe on the sandy beach.
Very recommendable!

rained almost the whole time we were here so we couldn't swim now find the old bridge. you're quite far from any town so nobody is around although I think it's a boat launch or something. very nice jungle sounds in the morning and too cold for mosquitos (early may). if we had more time we would stay here more days. no facilities, bring enough food and potable water unless you have a good filtration system.
