Small BLM location for approximately 25 vehicles and tents. Close to John Days Painted Hills. No facilities. Quiet, some shade and good for one or two nights. Small creek along camp. Accessible for rigs up to 30ft.

nice spot still.open. lots of spaces. slept very well. almost no cars in evening
Report Check-InThis place is sweet! Many spots, very pretty green grass (in April), and right next to the water. Saw some cows and it smelled of cow, but overall very awesome.
Report Check-InI was the only one on the right turn; at least two rigs came in and took a left. What a glorious view and you could hear the stream. Perfect for going to Painted Hills. Mostly level if you get in the right spot between bumps
Report Check-InCan be seen from road, beautiful views, make shift fire pits but campfires are not allowed, quiet, I went to the right, others are in the second area.
Report Check-InNo facilities, but nice area from dry camping with easy access to Painted Hills Unit. There were several rigs there on this night but there was enough room to spread out and not feel crowded. Very quiet. We had a reasonably level place to camp. Would definitely stay there again.
Report Check-InNice open space. Small lot on the right and larger on the left. Great for trailers and medium rigs.
No facilities but the air is crisp and it gets dark & quiet. Can't ask for better.
4 other rigs when we stayed but space for many more.
Spotty cell service. Might catch 1 bar from time to time. John Day visitor center down the road has free wifi & water.
This was the perfect spot to stay with nearby access to the Painted Hills. It was quiet and beautiful. A bit of trash, but collected it before leaving.
Report Check-Incame here Sunday afternoon and was only the 2nd van here. I counted 6 fire rings in the area but the area is big enough for more rigs. very clean, especially after a weekend. let's keep it that way
Report Check-InLarge mostly level space with a few rock fire pits on the west side of the road. Creek runs along the area.
Report Check-InJust as described. Easy access, roomy, and very quiet. Totally empty when I arrived and left. No cell signal, I enjoyed finishing a book that I started too long ago.
Report Check-Innice spot, we were the only vehicle despite the holiday. but lots of mosquitos and flies.
Report Check-InNice quiet flat location easy access with car or truck.
Report Check-InTurn off is easy to miss since it is near a turn and goes down once off the road. There are other dirt roads around it too. Dirt road and parking, could get very muddy in the rain. Mostly level places to park. There were some big bumps but mostly avoidable. Out 24ft Rv did okay, although a big bump did some rattling. A few rock fire pits. Can easily go down little trails to the river/stream. We were the only ones here when we stayed, could easily fit 10-15 small rigs and cars but it would be cozy. Would not recommend vehicles longer than 30ft since it would be hard to turn around if there are any other vehicles parked. Very little shade. Space for tents if there aren’t many vehicles.
Report Check-InLovely! Easy to get our van into & right along the way to the painted hills. Lots of space, felt very safe. Would stay again.
Report Check-Ingreat place to stay the night while visiting the painted hills... quiet overnight
Report Check-InWe stayed one night with our van on this Place near to the Painted hills.
Near to the road but quiet, lot of mosquitoes because of the river.
