Lots of gravel camp sites can be found in this area. Some have make shift fire pits. The Colorado River is approximately 50ft from the camping spots. Very peaceful except for the sound of trains in the distance.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Way too much trash! Did not stay. I begrudgingly clean up campsites but this would require a dumpster. Such a shame.
Report Check-Indog poop everywhere and trash everywhere.. you hear the train, but not loud enough to wake up. we have a 26 ft TT plus the truck i was big enough to fit both. i would not stay here again because of the trash and dog poop everywhere. their is another spot but probably for van or car. neither are good for a big rig.
Report Check-InNo camping sign, and rocks blocking the road. Spent the night on the higher road, and had no issues. The trains did wake me up once but I also don’t have a ton of insulation. Didn’t walk down to the water.
Report Check-InNot a great place. Lots of trash, mattresses, even a burned car and a homeless camp. We didn’t stay, didn’t feel safe. Wouldn’t recommend this spot. Did have good cell service with Verizon’s.
Report Check-InThis seems to be a well know place, down on the low road off the higher gravel road, got there mid afternoon and other vans showed up later but 200 yards between sites. A little trash but not bad. Only one lone truck drove by the 2 ½ days I was there. Lots of privacy. Trains are long but do not disturb the sleep. Would return.
Report Check-InGreat place for a good nights sleep. This particular spot was taken so we just parked at the end of the gravel road 1/4 mile down. This site backs right up to the Colorado River and provides a great view of the river and mountains in the distance. It is surrounded by bushes so there was small bugs flying around the car lights but never bothered us. Saw Otters playing in the morning! Would stay here again upon passing through
Report Check-InNice spot along the river for free! You can here the train on the other side of the river and it was a little windy! But overall a nice place!
Report Check-InNice spot. Right along the dirt road there are many pullouts to stop and camp. Some of the pullouts seem to have been used as dumping spots for old tires and stuff so just find a good one. Right across from the Colorado river. Mostly quiet. You can hear the trains and the highway but they are far enough away that it won’t wake you up at night. Far better than sleeping in a city or town at least.
Report Check-InWhat means nice? Do you like a parking lot like piece if gravel beside a graded gravel road? Sitting inches away from this road? Lots of gravel spots means three dusty bays. Is it nice to look on the chanalized Colorado river? Fire pits (we have seen only a single one) are not more than some loose rocks and think of making a fire in a bone dry area where bushes are just feet away? If you look for rubbish you will find it! Maybe you like the distant roaring of the trains? Sorry guys, if you like this spot you have earned better ones!
Report Check-InNice place. lots of broken glass, but river swim was nice, no one else around, just the trains. Great 4G t-mobile signal! we only heard birds and trains (but the trains were far enough away not to wake us)
Report Check-InThis was a great spot. Got there at dusk and woke up to a fantastic view of the river.
Fish were abundant along the edge.
1 other vehicle there but was far away that didn’t notice them. There is some garbage and I took away as much as I could and removed some from the waters edge.
Would visit again.
no worries no hurry. a good place to chill down. trains are romantic nostalgia. a thudding in the distance and an easy access back to the highway. beautiful water and foul.
Report Check-Ineasy access peaceful. quiet minus the nostalgia of the trains. highway near by. geese and coots fly by. Recommend
Report Check-Inthe sounds continuing..... the sounds of the trains of a travel once was nostalgic conditions of a drum that goes whommmm.
silhouette silhouette the morning dove. coots on the horizon floating above. exhaling the road and gathering the above.
a chair ‘ganst the rover bar a Colorado affair. Arizona is here and California is near.
details: mini vans feat not. single dames i’m part of the lot. mace at hand the town was a bit ....a loft. fearless in range i shall fear not.
