Description

The place is a bit rundown but it's still a great camping spot.
With a rooftop tent you can sleep on the big and secured parking lot.
If you have a seperate tent you can camp in the grassy garden alongside the Nile.
The place is very quiet at night and around 1 AM all the lights go off.

What makes this place worthwhile are the clean bathrooms (ask them to open the new ones, not the one at the mosque) and great cold shower pressure as well as the friendly and helpful staff.

There is a fruit juice stand (SP. 25,-for a deliciously fresh banana with milk and sugar shake), a small shop with cold drinks (SP.5,- per small bottle) on the parkin glot as well and a small "restaurant"/kitchen(owner is Willem) that opens in the evening and sells foul (mashed beans).

Price is USD5,- pppn and USD10,- per car per night. Although if you sleep in a rooftop tent, it might be less.

Phone: 0912569563 of Muhammed the receptionist.

This is the only option in town. 5 USD pppn, 5 USD for the car per night. Sleeping on the parking, very noisy until mignight. Lot of car come to the blue Nil club for car wash. Motorcycle rodeo at the week end.

OK for few days but not very peaceful.

Only USD for the paiement.

Very good welcome from Mohamed and the owner. Are always available to accompany you on a daily basis. Shaded camps with electricity, toilets and hot showers. $10 per day

Report Check-In

Interesting place to stay and chat to the club members who mostly speak a bit of English. New flat rate of $10 to camp, you don't get much for it but it is a good place to make some connections and get information in Khartoum.

5$ pp plus5$ per car, only USD accepted
pro:
you have a view over the nile (not from your Car/tent but from the area
during the day it is a calm place and you can sit outside.
con:
for 15 or 20 USD
you get a ice cold shower
European toilets without seat
dogs barking every night for many hours and keep you awake
lots of rubbish in the surrounding and a place which seams it was a lovely place 10 years ago. But now maintanance is missing.
The parking lot you stand is very busy in the evenings. But friendly people.
You see I am a bit between.
Most I don't like the dogs keep all awake every night!

Report Check-In

as described very basic camping spot. Not really worth the money $5 for camping and extra $3 for bike.

Report Check-In

stayed a couple extra days to unwind and do some minor repairs- no problem changing oil on the parking area. there is no electricity to plug in to. maybe outlets in the public area.

really nice group of people and they invite travelers to join their club gatherings.

you can get good black market exchange with the fruit/juice vendor between the club and the road. he also had the best fruit in town.

you are bound to meet some Overlanders here.

5 USD to camp without a car (only bicycle and tent). I didn’t have this currency and and the made me pay in pounds using the official rate. Nice place in the evening at night, but at 6 am the sun was already roasting me inside the tent. So I had to move, and for almost the same price I found a room with bathroom, fan, AC and even a little fridge! It’s called Half Moon hotel.

Report Check-In

Good place to camp with secure parking. Toilets and shower (cold) were ok. People at the club are very friendly. Mohammed was extremely helpful and helped us arrange a new windshield for our car. We paid USD 15 pn for 2 persons and one car.

Report Check-In

Agree with all the comments made before, best place to stay in Khartoem. Very friendly and affordable.

Report Check-In

Good camping option in Khartoum, cheap compared to other hotel options. $5 pp and $5 for car. Toilet and showers were functional, not clean. Ismael can do laundry for you (by hand), we had a lot and paid him 300 Sudanese pound (€6). Ask Mohammed about this option. On Friday it was super busy in the club, other days more quite. Relaxed atmosphere.

Report Check-In

Great value for the price compared to the rest of Khartoum!

The place isn’t western standards but there’s a place to park any size vehicle, securely.

Additionally you can have a nice cold shower and enjoy being right in the city centre.

Only advice would be not to camp next to the playground, ask for a nice spot away from the playground.

Toilets and showers were fine
