We could enjoy the nice and clean pool (see picture)

Report Check-In

Nice campsite to stay if you are going to see the shoebills. The lodge has a nice pool that campers can use and restaurant and bar. Ablutions are ok. Nice walk to view point over the wetlands .

Report Check-In

The receiption facilities quite agreeable. The "camping spot" and ablutions not. Save yourself the trip if you are looking to camp.

Report Check-In

Perfect place to stay in order to take a canoe out into the swamps and look for the shoebill. Basic campsite but clean, new toilet and shower which was warm and refreshing, the first night we had lots of mozzies due to heavy thundery weather but the next night was fine. Nice walk up to the lodge through the forest, only a few minutes, good WiFi and cold drinks and meals available. swimming pool but it needed a bit of a clean when we were there.

Report Check-In

As described, only price went up to 35.000 each. Campground is still down, not next to the lodge. Toilet and shower were not super clean this time and there are no lights anywhere so carry a torch. Many mosquitos. Pay attention flushing toilets as there are frogs a
t night (even in the toilet!)

Small campsite but with everything you need : clean toilet - hot shower - flat campground - beautiful views !!
Nice walk through forest to reach the lodge, with spectacular panorama over wetlands, Lake Victoria & Entebbe. Short drive to Mabamba swamps to go and discover the Shoebill ….worth a visit !!
We took the free ferry from Entebbe to here, nice experience

Report Check-In

Very nice place to stay, as others said, the camp is a bit down the trail, we liked it and did the boat tour to see the shoebill, were successful and we loved it. 200.000 for the boat + guide. Absolutely worth doing it.

Campsite sure is an afterthought and yes, it’s a hike up to the lodge on a staff’s forest trail. The small clearing that is the “campsite” is only a short walk from the staff quarters and doesn’t fit more than 2 RTTs. The “right” road to campsite was so cramped with tree branches that even we with a Defender w/ RTT couldn’t fit through and we had to drive the other way. Definitely not for big rigs, so sharp turns here, too. Ablutions are very basic, no lights. Hot shower with solar. Pool at the lodge is pretty small but nice. Still not exactly worth the 30000UGX/pppn. No kitchen also, so washing the dishes was a bit of a pain. A view to the Lake Victoria from one spot. Lots of mozzies around in the evening because the place is bushy. They are planning to build a new campsite up where the lodge is at some point and that’ll certainly be much better. But good base for one night when you’re doing the shoebill tour at the wetlands.

We attempted entry to camping in our big rig (11 ton MAN) and no go. Wasn't that impressed with camping area and it's a hike up the hill to the lodge. Didn't stay.
Instead we wild camped in the football field at the base of the entry road opposite the muesum and with permission of headman arranged through Ismail (see shoebill tour post for just down the road). Agreed 10,000pn. But loads of kids, you have to be firm.

We stayed for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. There are lots of mosquitos but the place is stunning. There are some short forest trails and we enjoyed a beautiful sunrise view over part of Lake Victoria from the campsite. The lounge at the lodge is the perfect place to wind down, relax and enjoy the forest. The wifi isn't very good nor is the MTN signal. We ordered a delicious 3 course lunch for 40 000pp. Amazing hot shower after a string of cold ones. Fantastic staff, no doubt about that!

Lodge is beautiful with a very funky pool area. The campsite could have been located next to the lodge rather at the bottom of the hill feels like an afterthought with no view. There are hot showers available but no other camping facilities. There is only place for 3 vehicles NOTE that there was a very bad mosquito problem at the campsite while we where there.

Beautifull lodge on a Hill overseeing the swamp and lake victoria. Camping spots are down the hill, but the lodge can be reached within a 3 minute walk. Ablutions are simple but clean. Shoebill tours can be arranged, without any hassle upon arrival. Food is amazing. Staff is friendly!

Nice camping spot with hot showers. Clean facilities. Pool with awesome view. Friendly staff. Very nice chilling area.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Camping ablutions okay. Great location to arrange Mabamba swamp tour. See swamp post for prices.

Lovely place. Stunning pool with a great view, and a deck surrounded by trees for sundowners or birdwatching. We camped down the hill in their campsite - a bit of a trek through the forest to get to the main lodge and pool, but not too bad. The campsite is a nice open area and a few places to park in the bush. Great HOT showers and borehole water is drinkable! The staff were great and helped us organize a guide for the Mabamba swamp shoebill trip. We paid ugx 30,000 pppn.

Beautiful lodge and amazing pool with view.
Camping is 30,000pp and it's down the hill from the lodge.

The staff called ahead and arranged a boat and guide for a bird watching tour on the wetlands.

Report Check-In

Wonderful place. The campsite is very basic, just a flat grassy area (staff sports pitch!) next to a small and simple ablution block with lovely hot showers.
BUT the staff are first class. Elaine and Nick (owners) have a fantastic team, I cannot praise them enough for how welcome and comfortable they made us feel. Food is also excellent and the evening meal is good value at UGX40,000 (3 courses), although we thought the same price for breakfast was a little steep.
Lovely pool and lounge area for relaxing. Lots of forest wildlife all around, and the team are happy to help/advise on activities locally (e.g. birding tours of the wetland or day trips to Entebbe).
Now the lodge is officially open the cost is UGX30,000 pppn for camping.
We didn’t want to leave - highly recommended!

Report Check-In

Hard to find, there are no signs, we had to ask the locals, they kindly helped us. The campsite and Lodges are still on construction, it has not opened officially yet, thats why there are no signs at the road... 20.000 pppn for camping, basic facilities and hot (solar) shower. They try to open in June/2018. The owner was very friendly. There were thousands of dragonflies in the evening.
