Something not right?

Description

It's a campsite at the Hardap Resort from NRW. A sandy place, no shadow, good ablutions with hot water, electricity, sink and bins, swimmingpool. Restaurant with nice terrace and sight over the lake.
At the entrance gate to the Hardap Park (game) you must pay an entrance fee: internationals 40 NAD pp plus 10 NAD per car.
For the campsite we paid 120 pppn.
In total a little bit pricy, but you can visit the park and you have a nice view over the Hardap Dam.

You have to paid 70 NDollars pp, 50 NDollars for the entrance fee. And than you drive to the reception and pay 180 NDollars pp for the campsite. The campsite itself is a dusty parking place without view and a lot of wind. The best place and view is from the restaurant. In the pool was no water. Just for a stop over is it expensive.

Foreigners price to the game park + gate to the camp: 100 pp/pn + 50 per car.
Price for camping was 177 pp/pn.
Camp has power points and nice solar shower.
No shade at all.
Beautiful views both sunset and sunrise can be seen.
There's a walking trail if you head from the campsite towards the lake you'll hit a rock wall with white arrows pointing the direction towards a small beach on the lake. Pretty nice short hike.
Can get quite windy.
We came to the game park Sunday morning we were told the gate would open at 8am but the officer was only there at 9.

The Hardap Lake is very beautiful. The rest camp is part of a larger area with a good restaurant and numerous lodges. The views are spectaculair. The swimming pool is very nice but, on Jan 1, very crowded. The campsite is sandy with almost no shade. Ablutions are reasonable. It can be windy. Price 165 Nam$ pppn plus $40 pppn for park entrance and $10 for the car

Report Check-In

The campground is, except for the ablutions, not really worth the money (165 pp campground, 40pp+10 pcar for park entrance), as quite barren and unidyllic, BUT if you like swimming, this is the place for you. A huge, ca. 35-40 m long pool qualifies for some serious lap swimming. Plus a small pool for children. The views from the restaurant over the dam is gorgeous. The park entrance also entitles you to the game park which is open from 6 am to 4 pm. We did this in the morning before breakfast.
