Coming from Chile with a Chilean car, officer checked our passport, padrón, revision technica, and driving license, and briefly looked in the back to ensure that we weren't smuggling. Friendly guy.

There is a stop sign, we got out our cars and spoke to the police man, he said it's ok to go and it's about 50km to the border.
