Description

We rode the 20km of washboard from ruta 40 to the gate and we were told that it is closed due to snow up there. The people leaving the park said it wasnt bad at all up there but the rangers seem overcautious compared to other countries. They have a small campground at the station with enough room for 2-3 tents with rock walls to shelter from wind, a cooking area with walls as well and bathrooms with running water. Because we could not cross into the park, they let us camp here for free.

They told us there is no way to check online to see if the park is closed, you gotta ride to the gate to find out.

Report Check-In

We have been at the ranger Station, but the gate was closed and nobody was there, so we parked our Land Rover nearby and waited. After an hour or so the rangers came and told us, that its not possible to get in, because the street is in bad condition. We asked if it would not be possible for our car, but they said no. We were really a bit angry, because its a really long way to go there and it would have been possible to post a sign at the routa 40, where the road to the laguna starts.
