Something not right?

Description

At the intersection Y-71/Y-85/RCH257. A great bus stop with place up to 8 sleeping bags or 3 two-persons. Fantastic shelter for wind and rain (wow, it stormed last night). Many cyclists have stayed here already. But keep it clean guys! (Why did anyone defecate in the corner??? It's disgusting!) No water. Use the nearby Refugio3 of meals and socializing. This had a pit toilet.

Great little Refugio, there’s a bench downstairs and then an elevated sleeping platform accessed by a ladder. Was clean when we were here and they must’ve recently replaced the windows as they’re all double glazed with no cracks anymore. The toilet isn’t great, but once you shut the door to the Refugio you wouldn’t know.

Still here and in very good condition. It’s mostly clean. Just one window is cracked so the wind comes through there but only a tiny bit. Space for 8 people! No water around so bring your own.

The shelter next door has space for 5 people, but in case that one is full this shelter would be great.

I was on a solo bike tour from Ecuador to Ushuaia. I camped 1 night here. The Bus Shelter was spacious and protected, with sealed windows (one with glass, for light) and a closable door (not lockable). It was fairly clean yet benefited from a good sweeping, by means of the broom-head in the nearby Refugio3. It smelled fine and made for a good place to pitch my tent. (Space for 3 tents, or 8+ cyclists with bikes). Refugio3 was bright and comfortable and a good place to relax and have meals.

I’m used to staying in grotty places but this shelter is disgusting! It stinks of urine and there’s used toilet paper in the corners. I didn’t want to stand in here to eat never mind stay the night which was my original plan. Gross!

I got dropped off here after my seatpost broke on the dirt road. it was clean inside and the window was ok. it's for sure one of the best places to stay in the area. according to some writing on the wall: Another Refugio for 2 people 3.2 km south. water in Creek 5.3 km south. clean river 14 km south. Refugio 16 km south - dirty.

We ended up staying here two nights, the first night was 1/1/2019, on the 2nd we went to see the Penguins and then came back here for a second night. A big mattress is in here and it was actually pretty clean! Lots of cyclists names and dates, love the history!

There is no water close by but there is a water source 5.3 Km south. Also, no toilets.

Report Check-In

Good shelter for the night. Room for 6 comfortable including panniers but can manage more. A must experience for cyclists to sleep in a Chilean bus stop!
